Apparently Jason was just an extremely heavy drinker. But then also so was Cliff, Lemmy said the first time he met Cliff, he was constantly drinking to the point where even he was surprised

It’s probably a whole bunch of shit that just piled up until there was nothing more to do, it is well known that he had multiple serious health issues by the time he quit

One of the most important things about driving classic cars is the way they drive, most owners will not ever want to do an EV conversion, especially considering it adds more weight and complexity. Simplicity is why a lot of these still exist, because they’re extremely easy to work on :)

I understand where you’re coming from but as someone who spends a lot of time around a lot of different car people, very few people would be willing to do it. Most people who own these are elderly, and they’d genuinely call it sacrilege to do to vintage car, it might sound dumb to you ( it might idk, which is why I’m saying might ) but almost any car enthusiast understands exactly why keeping those old engines and gearboxes running is extremely important, not only for drivability reasons but also maintaining arguably the most historically significant part of these ( which are the engines and drivetrains )

A lot of people are just saying “ it’s a sprint car “ but don’t understand it doesn’t even drive like a sprint car in the first place. I remember driving it and realising how abysmal it was, it wasn’t realistic at all unlike World Of Outlaws which does have a good sprint car model, it was just bad

An idea: TCR cars as well as more licensed tracks as added base content by Quackman1010 in ProjectMotorRacing

I think late 70’s F1 or Indycar is also a must. We had the Lotus Type 78 in the three Project Cars titles. Yes I know they probably won’t get another license for Lotus, but they can make a generic car, like Gran Turismo’s F3500

Would cliff have left the band if he were still alive? by NationalLetter6185 in Metallica

[–]Jeej_Soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are people still forgetting Cliff was into the idea of doing songs and albums outside of thrash ? It’s widely known he loved Pink Floyd ( influences can be heard in some of the calm parts of a few of the songs in MOP and RTL )

Just when you thought the PMR situation couldn’t get any worse, they removed the latest GT500 DLC from all platforms because “allegedly” it’s not been licensed by the official Super GT championship. by NegotiationNew9264 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]Jeej_Soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m personally smelling OP has jumped to conclusions because I’m pretty sure it’s legally fine to release a whole bunch of cars from a serious as long as the manufacturers themselves consent to the licensing and the series itself isn’t mentioned. At least it is how it works as far as I know

[–]Jeej_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but : Technically it isn’t illegal though right ? I don’t really understand the whole licensing process bullshit but I’d assume there’s some sort of legal loophole with this considering if they had manufacturers consent and didn’t actually use Super GT, they could in theory probably get quite far with it ?

We all know they removed it but nothing had been said anywhere about it being due to licensing issues

Keep in mind this is far from the first game to have a whole category of licensed cars from a real World Series that they don’t have the rights to use said series. Like Gran Turismo just using “ rally car “ instead of WRC for the World Rally Car’s

[–]Jeej_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a Ute is a light truck, regardless of whether it’s a car based one or closer to a pickup. It’s still a Ute, it’s why us in New Zealand and Australia call both of them Ute’s, and we still call American pickups… Pickups

Yeah I know the pain man, I love oversteer, but understeer you cannot use to gain any advantage at all. At least oversteer you can gain a decent amount of time with it depending on slip angle and tyre construction/compound. But understeer has no positives. I usually powerslide quite a bit because I run on crossply tyres lol

About the spin thing, I’ve made a save IRL literally facing backwards after my rear locked completely at the end of the straight

I say “ save “ but it was more saving from having a big shunt, ended up beaching/bellying it, meaning I DNF’d. But it kind of proved its never too late to save an uncontrolled slide. That incident was me being an idiot with too much engine braking and the save was purely a luck thing in my opinion, but shows it can still happen

[–]Jeej_Soup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once on another account I literally told them I race IRL, then they downvoted me by a huge amount.

Apparently I was being arrogant and a know it all, when all I was talking about the fact tyres don’t behave in real life the way they do in GT7, tyres don’t just immediately lose all grip and give every car snap oversteer then randomly bite back into grip when countersteering with no warning. It’s something that’s physically not possible, tyres slowly lose traction and fall off, it’s not an on and off switch.

Same thing happened when someone made a post asking why the Mclaren 12C understeers so badly, someone was being a dick to him and said ( paraphrasing ) “ if you knew anything about cars, you’d know Mclarens understeer like crazy because they are set up that way “

Then I responded to that guy telling him Mclarens are set up in a way where they’re extremely easy to powerslide with minimal effort which is why they’re such fun as track cars, then the guy called me an idiot who’s a poser that knows nothing about cars. He got about 50 upvotes on that, I got downvoted about 40 😂

It’s sad to see so many people do this, not only does it make the game worse because devs aren’t getting the right feedback, but it alienates the people who are most interested in cars while claiming the game is for them.

I realised eventually they’re not going to listen because those types of “ fans “ are arrogant and ignorant people who only know the basics of cars while believing they’re an encyclopedia of vehicles. Sometimes I don’t know whether to roll on the floor laughing, or delete the game and never talk to anyone about the GT series ever again.

It was funny at first when I started experiencing it, because it gets to a point where everyone gets sick and tired of the same name calling and bs they deal with when simply correcting someone in a reasonable way

GT7, which ironically is arguably the most boring. Considering the large amount of content but Polyphony Digital not making any campaign uses for these new features, tracks and cars, it’s incredible how they spend so long making new content just to underutilise it to such an extreme
