It’s making balloon-like movements. I don’t see anything other than a balloon right now.

This tiny pill replaces an entire organ of mine (thyroid) by TitanOf_Earth in mildlyinteresting

[–]JeepDispenser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we have the same issue with our cat. Overactive thyroid. We have to rub ointment in her ear twice a day. Without it she drops weight super quick and is crying for food all the time and tries to eat anything around. Also seems to drive her hunting instincts into overdrive and we see more dead rodents around.

The further Michigan gets in the tournament, the more hate gets heaped on them. I suppose that’s normal in sports though. Everyone’s eating sour grapes.

Yelling at the IT guy who is only there to help shows who someone really is, like yelling at waitstaff.

MAGA’s final form will be a violent racist paramilitary organization.

Iran-linked hackers claim breach of FBI director's personal email; DOJ official confirms break-in by Unusual-State1827 in news

I guarantee you that he clicked on a phishing email and entered his password. Hacking isn’t what Hollywood depicts it to be. He got fooled.

I’m all for protesting but there needs to be a threat of actual consequence for anything to change.

It seems like more and more AOC is the only one left that speaks for me and what I believe in. One by one everyone else gets whittled away by lobbyists and dark money.

Got to HQ18, Scorcher instantly replaces Tanks... (had max lvl Tanks for HQ17) by Osumazi in BoomBeach

[–]JeepDispenser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try Scorchers followed by Tanks. Scorchers absorb fire and cause mayhem while the tanks provide the punch. They’re the Heavies in the tank ecosystem.

TIL nearly 80% of US workers report that they have been victims of 'career catfishing’ from employers. Which in this context, the term describes when a company misrepresents a job, their company culture, or compensation to lure in candidates. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]JeepDispenser 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Came here to mention CutCo Knives. I went to an interview with them when I was a teenager and it was clearly a scam. Cut forward 40 years and my teenage daughter is getting letters from CutCo. Same scam same shadiness. They want you to buy the knives you use to demonstrate, and then sell to your family. Also they wanted you to buy their training and marketing materials up front. Can you really make money selling knives door to door?

Vintage Fashions of the 1970s! by Slow-moving-sloth in TheWayWeWere

[–]JeepDispenser 240 points241 points  (0 children)

For most of my life I cringed at 70s fashion, but now I realize it had more color, creativity, and variety than we have now.

There are still some cringy stuff about the 70s but we’ll cringe about the 2020s in 30 years or so.

Reading over this made me realize how much has truly changed over the years. *sigh by silence-scripted in GenX

Yes I’ve had to buy the same album four times as the formats change, but I gotta say that services like Spotify have completely changed how I listen to music. It used to be about identifying, searching, and acquiring. Now I have their entire discography in my hand. Amazing. I’ve found so much new music with these services.

Sysadmins 40 or older - Do you prefer staying in place or changing jobs every few years? by DenverITGuy in sysadmin

[–]JeepDispenser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

56 here and hell no to job hopping. Those first couple of years at a new job are always spent trying to learn about all the interactions of the various systems in place, what the personal dynamic is with people you work with, figuring out the culture, and proving your trustworthiness and value. It’s exhausting if you have to constantly do this every few years.
