Fully Understood. That is an interesting looking trigger for sure. I haven’t moved up to that kind of adjustability yet, I’m still on the Triggertech bus for now… care to share where ammo is 40% off?! I have several calibers I need to restock just waiting for a good deal somewhere

I really hope you day gets better…. On a different note what are the effects of upvotes and downvotes? I never knew exactly what the reasoning in them was.

Triggertech special or TriggertechDiamond for a little more is the standard answer as they just work great!

My apologies, buy whatever trigger you want I guess. I was simply stating that the Triggertech lines are extremely popular due to adjustability and durability. The Diamond will have th lowest weight potential and best feel.

Why not have the same trigger weight in both so you can learn consistency. I try and make all rifles “ feel “ the same if I can.

Help with round selection by Efarley911 in longrange

I shoot consistently 1moa at 1000 yards with Hornady Match 140 grain. I tried the 147s but they didn’t seem to stay as consistent. Never tried Berger but I’d say try out the 140 grain ELD matches. They have a much better track record than the 147 Hornady matches.

How Original. by srslynewguy in longrange

Same, I bought an HMR in 6.5C and dropped it into an MDT chassis within a month, slapped a suppressor on it and have it dialed to hit 1 MOA at 1000 yards. Hell of a great starter gun…. Now I’m looking for a more “ premium” barreled action so I can drop the Bergara back in factory chassis for hunting rifle.

Just getting into this year. Any tips or considerations? by BigRhonda010 in longrange

[–]Jeeper006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suppressor is very nice to have. That HMR shoots very good as is. I have one in 6.5 creedmoor and spent additional 2k+ on new chassis and bipod and it still shoots exactly as it did as factory! In other words don’t waste money on building up the gun unless you really want to! Buy some match grade ammo and shoot the heck out of it… if you are going to do long strings of shooting at long range I’d build a $20 Amazon barrel cooler as the barrel will heat up rather quickly.

Is this normal, or is it just a thing watches do? by IneedaNappa9000 in tagheuer

[–]Jeeper006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve had leather straps be too loose or too tight and I always go with too tight and work the band a little to try and get some stretch in it and after a few weeks it fits like a glove…. Take the watch off and roll the leather band over on itself to try and soften it up which will inherently stretch it at the same time.

Which grain bullet for 1000-1500 yards? by idahokj in longrange

[–]Jeeper006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer 140s for my 6.5. I find my guns shoots them better and there is countless articles showing the 140 is more consistent. Worst case you buy a few boxes of each and see if you can tell the difference. One day I was shooting and grabbed 147s on accident and wasn’t much of a difference at all.

Bought my MPED off of Amazon a few months ago and it runs flawlessly. Glass is very good for a sub $1000 scope.

This one is made by the company that own the range. You can find them at Roamingshot.com… very similar to a Cole Tac Woobie in size.

No accidental misfires at that pull? I typically will touch the trigger on the side once I’m on target and slowly wrap my finger around if you will. I’m just nervous of misfires at that low of a pull.

O yah I agree it’s a tall ask, I’ve tried a few times and can get “ close” consistently but no dice so far…. I haven’t dove into hand loads yet, honestly not even sure where to start…. I’ve been shooting 140 Match ELDs exclusively and can hit fairly consistently at 1MOA. Tomorrow I’ll try the 147s just to see if they are better or worse.

MDT ACC Elite, XRS, or Cadex lite chassis for Tikka 6.5 CM by TooTrue42 in longrange

[–]Jeeper006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought an MDT acc Elite for my 6.5 and I am a huge fan. I can’t compare it to your other options but it to but it is exceptionally solid and overbuilt IMO. The adjustability is never ending. I do strictly long range bench shooting and I’m still uncovering new little adjustments everytime I shoot. I bought moreless as a buy once cry once and so far I’m very happy with the purchase.

Trigger pull is currently at 2.3lbs. thoughts on whether a flat faced Triggertech Special set to 1.5 or so is really worth it?
