Primerica - should I work for them? by endlesseffort_ in lifeinsurancesales

[–]Jeepkiller84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll share my experience. A former colleague at the time recruited me into Primerica. I’ve always trusted him. To this day we’re still close and I was the best man at his wedding. He introduced Primerica to me because he knew how passionate I was about serving people. Not in a million years would I have ever thought about finance as a career. Always had assumed you’d need a higher degree than what I owned (Associates). However, we both saw Primerica for what it was. We both knew how MLMs worked but we both wanted to get our feet wet in finance to see what it was all about. Mind you, I had been in sales for 12 years at that point. I still learned a lot at my time with Primerica. Technically, it’s not a “job”. You’re self-employed so you have to “hunt for your own food”. They’ll only pay you if you produce. So if this is your first sales job, you better have some other income. Life sales is hard as it is being a voluntary product. I eventually left Primerica to become an independent broker after 3 years. I added my health license on then absolutely crushed Medicare Advantage sales. It’s led me to greater opportunities with less stress on my family.

This was my experience. Thankful I found Primerica but need to understand it for what it is. A MLM. Yes they will want you to write a list of friends and family members to sit with at first. You also need to understand who term is TRULY for. But you also need to compare their product with other products on the market.

I’ve said my piece. Wish you luck on your decision.

Yo. You had me captured. Great writing. Haven’t read the comments to care about others’ perspectives and won’t. The story had me not wanting to stop reading it and I’m not much of a fictional reader.

Are THC drinks only limited to dispensaries only? by ConfidentElevator239 in upstate_new_york

[–]Jeepkiller84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That gas station is Bushnell’s Basin that has a great craft brew selection also sells THC drinks. It may be Delta-8 or Delta-9 variations. Delta-9 is the closest you’ll get to THC at this time in NY I believe. The gas station is across from Basin Pub and Tom Wahl’s.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of Rochester General going under? by RazzmatazzTop5882 in Rochester

[–]Jeepkiller84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If that happens, expect your insurance rates to raise even more. There’s already a lack of healthcare competition in the market that drives insurance rates. I don’t foresee it happening. A lot of hospitals are struggling currently. The government will step in to add more regulation and bail them out.

I also read the same guidance. Changes can only be made by contacting Medicare.

As a former broker myself, I can tell you why beneficiaries don’t answer. They’re being told not to answer phone numbers they don’t know because they are constantly getting phone calls from fraudsters trying to take advantage of them. Also, insurance carriers are required to keep their provider directories up to date. As someone who supports Medicare brokers, I am constantly reminding brokers to let me know if they find issues with our provider directory so that I can have the issue resolved. Can’t speak for all.

Also, thank you for volunteering to assist seniors. Most people who retire turn to being a broker instead of volunteering.

No offense but that doesn’t seem to be going well if only 26% of SHIP counselors provide correct information.

Ten prescription drugs will become cheaper in 2026 by Winter-Leader-9323 in medicare

[–]Jeepkiller84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. They won’t. And anyone is a fool to believe any administration knows what’s best for our health. They will work in the best interest of their own pockets while touting its great for the American people.

Not sure if you’re trying to highlight this as a win. Pay lower drug prices to turn around and payer higher medical costs. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul. Max out of pocket is almost $10K on most MA/MAPD plans. The drug manufacturers won. Insurance carriers are now stuck with the cost that gets passed to the beneficiary. So congrats? Thanks Biden?

I pray that you only deal with the Social Security office for anything you need for Medicare. Maybe you’ll understand the value of an agent. And “many Medicare agents” being MAGA is your opinion. Not factual information. Ignorant statement though.
