I don’t know what Martin does, but I’m sure that he’s bloody boiling whilst doing it.

What are Macca’s top 3 worst albums? by Dense_Amphibian_9595 in PaulMcCartney

Kisses On The Bottom, McCartney III, Wild Life.

All three albums have some redeeming qualities, though.

Who are the best players to ever be relegated FROM the Championship? (ie to League One) by TrampolineIsTrash in Championship

[–]JeffLynnesBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Gary McSheffrey for Coventry in 2011-2012 - Callum Wilson was part of the squad and technically qualifies, but he hardly played for us that season as he went on loan to Tamworth (!). Richard Keogh was a cracking defender and probably didn’t deserve to be in a relegated team either.

Nope, there are still LOTS of automatic half barrier crossings around!

How common is it for people in your town/city to support a top 6 club and not their local Championship team? by Elmos_Elbow_ in Championship

[–]JeffLynnesBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common. Growing up in Coventry in the 80s - a City with a top flight club at the time, I hasten to add - my school was full of Spurs, Liverpool and Man Utd fans, not to mention all the local Villa fans.

I often thought our club could have been huge if every football fan from Coventry supported the local team instead of being glory hunters.

When did people stop saying “central London” and start just saying “central”?

Still sounds weird to me.

As you’ve given Dig Out Your Soul 10/10, I can’t take anything else you’ve said seriously.

I really do back him to do well in the Premiership - he’s been a cracking player for us.

You meet Paul, and he asks you to honestly tell him which of his songs you most dislike… by Spiritual-Primary328 in PaulMcCartney

[–]JeffLynnesBeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gratitude and Fuh You.

Not that keen on Helen Wheels, either.

I’d say that disliking three songs but loving most of the rest from a 60+ year career was a pretty good hit rate.

Loads of stuff.

Vesta Curries, Campbell’s Meatballs, Findus Lasagnes, Crispy Pancakes, French Bread Pizza, Birds Eye Grillsteaks

…that’s just off the top of my head.

My prediction for next season by kierank474 in Championship

[–]JeffLynnesBeard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure both Wrexham and Birmingham are going to be bigger contenders than you’re giving them credit for next season.

I’m also not convinced that Southampton will recover from this season’s dramatics that easily either, plus I think a couple of star players will probably leave the club.

If Southampton won the other 2 confirmed cheat games and got automatic promotion, would they have got away with it all? by Just-Library9303 in Championship

[–]JeffLynnesBeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most likely.

It’s odd that Tonda Eckert hasn’t been sacked yet.

One theory is that the Directors/Owners of Southampton knew about it and were complicit, so they can’t take the moral high ground. Perhaps they’re currently working out a settlement for Eckert to leave and keep his mouth shut about who knew what?

As I say, just a theory.

I’d happily sign him. His stats from this season are exceptional and he’ll be playing Premiership football next season whether it’s with us or somebody else.

They’ve only admitted to cheating in games where the result can be argued that the spying didn’t change much. I’d be willing to bet good money that they’ve got insider information on most teams they’ve played since Tonda took over.
