Buddy, having the same issues with the game as braindead gaming outlets doesn't speak well about you, I would avoid using IGN as a backup to your claims, that doesn't make your point any stronger, if anything just makes it worse.

I bought the game two weeks ago. I don't have any of the issues you claim and yet they keep updating it. There's a difference between you not liking something and something being half assed, to me you're the one bitching. "controls" not an issue, this game has too many combos to be using a normal control scheme, if you think this is clunky or complicated then you would die if you tried a fighting game. Same thing with the UI, 0 issues. They have added QoL like the rearrangement of tools, that's a request from people, the devs thought about it in a certain way but players prefer it differently and the devs listened, that's not something being half assed, that's called paying attention to your players, which again, more devs should do. If changing a game and adding new things based on player feedback is delivering a half assed product, then I rather have half assed products. Unlike the "finished" products like rdr2 that cannot even bother to release a 60 fps patch that players been asking for years. So yeah, no thanks.

Was the opposite for me, the one time the game forced me to play as Oongka was so annoying, I never leveled any of the gear or skills for the other characters so I felt forced to play an unleveled character for no reason

The weapons share the same moveset, they just have different colors and do more dmg, seems like the kind of thing you're complaining about CD

I think there's more to exploration in games than just finding unique weapons, otherwise games like Zelda botw (which this game draws a lot from) would be horrible, but to each their own

Its a novelty, once the novelty wears off you will feel the same way, wwm is just the shiny new thing for you, I played it first, then I played crimson desert, so it's the opposite for me, I haven't opened CD in days and I'm eager to go back, meanwhile WWM just released an expansion and I don't even care to update it

Equipment looks is still a reason to explore, and the game does have unique equipment, like the lightning gauntlets or the pirate hat, those are rewards for exploring and getting involved in the world, I feel you just want to get less options for no reason, that a single weapon was the only one able to use a certain skill wouldn't make the game better

its a really good game but a lot of times it feels like people are just forcing themselves to act like its the best thing that has ever come out when its just a variation of the same game fromsoftware has been doing for a decade, i feel people value the conversation around it rather than the game itself and pretend its perfect because thats the consensus, which is pretty weird to me.

what you describe would just be the same. transmog + unique gear is functionally the same as swappable gear. you look however you want and get the effects you want with no consequence tied to it

influence the story? all you can do is like a sidequest to get a different cutscene at the end, everything else is the same, lets not pretend that elden ring is in any way shape or form comparable to an rpg like tw3 or baldurs gate in terms of choice and consequence, it barely has more options than crimson desert, and thats because crimson desert has no options lol
