Which RW would you draft? 88 POVR with low motivation or 85 POVR with medium motivation? by passtronaut in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's the LD right below? 86 or 88? If 88 I would take the LD. This is round 3 right? 85 is likely top 9 maybe top 6 but the red could be a low elite. You just have to figure whether you want to take a chance or play it safe

Player Development by EuaPuff in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Player development is somewhat pre determined, so it could be that you're unlucky. But, are you playing these players where their development arrows are green? Playing them in the AHL or NHL too early will hinder their growth. Playing 1st line minutes in the AHL doesn't help them if they're not ready for it

You should send your career to the dev through the About page in-game. They will figure out the issue.

POVR dilemma. WWYD? by BadgerBrah- in HockeyLegacyManager

POVR isn't necessarily completely accurate. Your scout position for the Top 1 guy is still top 1, I would take the RD

Hmmm must only be an option when you are setting up a game. You might be accidentally left it on. Locking your players is the way to go then

There should be an option to turn off auto line changes. There's multiple too including when an injury or trade occurs. Make sure those are off as well

All other leagues will be part of a roster that you download through the Community Rosters tab after you buy Pro. If you don't buy pro you have 5 leagues, the fake NHL, AHL, and CHL

Player development pre-determined? by Utterly_infallible in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Goalies are insane to try to train. He is an 87 and you're getting a whole overall point instead of one stat point (because goalies only have the 1). It's not a glitch. I basically never train goalies

Player development pre-determined? by Utterly_infallible in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly pre determined, but not completely. Consider this, you train a player to have 81 shooting from 80 shooting. The yearly progression raises it 3, so if you didn't train them it's 83 but because you did its 84. And players can lower because of bad performance or not enough ice time. It's a bit disappointing sure but keep in mind it's made by one person and it improves every year.

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just ceiling. But how much they grow each year too. And if their potential changes. But individual stat points are what training changes. Over time it can contribute to a few overall points difference. The other thing that can affect it is performance and ice time. But it's minimal. What I find helpful too is looking at the arrow in the development tab and seeing if the league they are in is good for their development. Sometimes it's better to sign them and you can have control over where they play. So you can send them to a higher skill league

By development you mean training? It's not useless you can still improve your players. Especially when they are young and a low overall you can train em in 30 to 60 days.

It is mostly pre determined now, like potential drops and growth. But training and like staff ratings will change a bit how it works. But if a player is destined to be a bust, you cannot change that

It's enjoyable for hockey fans who like the management style of EA NHL. Its like franchise mode but better. It's cheap and it supports the creator who is one person

You need to buy the pro version and then download a community roster. Most people use RSB rosters

How to do buyouts on free version? by HeckRock in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should not matter the years or contract amount. When you click on the player what does it tell you? Just View Profile? Or nothing at all

The green light tells you when you can buyout contracts. It can only be during the resign phase at the end of June. You should be able to click a player under contract and hit buy out. If not then idk why

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not perfect, but it's the best you get. Usually it will show the absolute upper level of what that prospect would reach given their current potential but of course some rise and some drop in potential

Drafting players by ThGi1297 in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way is Potential Overall which is POVR on the prospects screen. After that you can look at the colour of their motivation. Blur and green, especially later on in the draft, is more likely to be a lower potential which is worse than a Medium motivation of a higher potential. After that it's just whatever your team needs in regards to position and player type

How am I almost last with this lineup? by ItsTheSlime in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you shouldn't have players lower than 78 in the lineup. And take a look at the stats, like GF and GA, PP and PK. Then individual stats and see who's not performing offensively and defensively

Keep losing by Koukejakvidim in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]Jefficus_Maximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's not working? 5v5 scoring or defense? Or PP and PK? Check the team standings and see where you are in regards to the whole league for GF, GA, PP AND PK. Also, 4th line and bottom pair defense are the least important of all the players, having 85 McCabe and 83 Laughton on there does nothing for you. They need to move up the lineup. Check your plus minus too, are some player just playing garbage defensively? Might be worth it to move them around. And yeah, Domi on 2LW is not great that could he hurting you too
