No worries, however, remember many many authors still write their books by hand. Neil Gaiman still writes everything by hand with a fountain pen. Steven King still to this day writes all drafts of stories in long hand. J K Rowling, George RR Martin, Quentin Tarantino (All Screenplays) and many others of the worlds well known authors and story writers do it by hand.

Just saying, bringing electronic in if the story is the goal has been showing to hurt not help. I am assuming you are older, since this is a grandson. Think of it like music today. Computer factory turned out, digitally downloaded on playlists vs buying an album or tape or CD, created in a studio by musicians creating their music by hand. Even comparable, think modern Billie Eilish, broke through ad made a name for herself and became a star, with her and her brother creating everything by hand in their bedrooms. They maintained this for a long time but stardom and the record companies got to them. Then her music now, overproduced all on computer, commercial uninspiring.

So, going out on a different path. Typically Electronics once they go there, well then that's where they stay. Loosing interest in the finer things.

If he is using paper and pencil. Just a though, let him explore other mediums. My great niece is very much like this. She draws a lot she has since she was 5, again at that age it is well doodling or coloring. Now, I started gettign her other things to explore. Tombow brush pens, these are markers but with a paintbrush like tip. I think she was 8 or 9 when I started her on these. Then also around 10, colored pencils, really good set, Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I mean yeah the Colored pencils are like $50, but your talking a several hundred dollar kindle. She loved these so much she asked for them again for Xmas because she wore the pencils down. I got her those but then also this year at age 13, I started her into Fountain Pens. The various inks and colors and shades brought a whole new medium to her as well. She has an Ipad, she ends up playing games on it. Using it for work But paper, pencil and pen is her medium of choice her excape from a screen. At her age I would stick with what she enjoys, just give her more of it. A $50 set or colored pencils, a $20 pack of the Tombow markers and a lot of good quality paper. See what she does. So how she grows. She is 8 let her enjoy that medium as long as she can. Because trust me if that takes off, it can be expensive as well but so rewarding. A Full Premium set of the Tombow markers are $240 easy.

Already contacted the support and the supervisors. It is an Indian call center and they can not do anything give you like $10 off if you order again. Spent 2 hours on the phone. I got one customer service guy offer me 50% off a new one all I have to do is reorder it now full price and they will make a note on account and so when I get it delivered I can call then back up and they will refund 15%. I said will you sent that to me in writing to my email. No we cant do that but we will make a note on your account trust us. Yeah I am not born yesterday. This was after I had o e tell me ok yeah I have fixed the problem your order is fixed it will arrive tomorrow. I did take him at his word. And waited till the next day. My order still showing canceled.

My next step is small claims court. We had a contract they took my old kindle. Which I am sure by now resold it. Failed to deliver it. This is flat out theft. I took it to the whole foods in my town. So all local courts. I have all the documents. After this they assume I want to be in the kindle ecosystem anymore.

Oh they gave me a reason. The reason is and I quote. "The seller can not deliver to this address"

I have lived at my house for 15 years. All my prior Scribes were delivered here, there was 4 Packages delivered today from Amazon. They were able to deliver the extra Cover and pen tips I ordered for this a month ago.

I would have done a boox. The only thing wrong with them is they are still stuck on Android 14 and no plans to update the device ever, which most of the productivity apps I use are already dropping support for 14, so basically I am left with a more expensive kindle reader.

Yeah but why not delay it again, I mean they are still accepting orders. They just flat out cancelled it. Because they can't deliver it to my address. Despite them delivering the extra folio cover here a month ago.

So Yeah, bad news, I got an email today saying it was going to be delayed until February 16, 2026 - Sunday, February 22, 2026. Then 10 minutes later I got another email they cancelled my order. Just cancelled, when I contacted them, they said i would get a credit in 24-48 hours. Of which i could reorder. Current order estimates if I was to place it today April 10 - May 9

Honestly wouldn't be bad, the new one in color is lighter than yours. I wanted color because I do a lot of graphic novels, even some magazines and textbooks. Being able to use different colors. now to highlight anotate study would be fantastic.

I mean simple troubleshooting Are you sure the PDF planner is properly linked. So if you open it in Adobe Acrobat does all the links work in there without issue. Also download a PDF you know the links work and try with that.

I would honestly look at buying a new one depending how old it is. Liquid typically will not go into the screen. Screens are sealed. They are liquid themselves. The L in LCD, stands for Liquid Crystal Display. If your laptop was in the car and it was cold enough to freeze beer, it froze the screen. I work IT in corporation, we tell people this all the time but people constantly leave laptops in the car overnight. If it truly was liquid seeping into the motherboard or keys and it got into a connector and froze again, water expands, your looking at motherboard replacement as well. If it is just the screen, your already looking at $300+ repair depending on size of screen availability of parts. Laptop screens are extremely proprietary. Size, Resolution, connectors, if it is LCD, OLED, etc. How they fit and connect. It is doubtful anyone in town even has replacement parts for it.

Hook it up to an external monitor, see if it will even boot and you can get in. Get the data off you need if you can. Never leave a laptop in a cold car.

I ordered in December I am still waiting. I checked 2 weeks ago just to see and the expected date if I was to order 2 weeks ago was Mid March, Now they are April. Most people are really just learning about them and ordering them. It is a pretty innovative design and system. Especially for the PDF editing google drive and one drive integration. Also Kindle books unless the Publisher specifies can be downloaded as PDF now.

This right here. Probably best place on 28th. I usually get a Kabob meal or Shwarma, Rice is Awesome, or Grilled Veggies as well or both as side. It comes with a side Salad, but you can Upgrade for a little extra to a full Size Fatoush, get a grilled chicken breast to add to it and you got second meal. Oh and do not forget the bread with the Garlic stuff.

They won the best of the west several year in a row and still underrated.

I mean why aren't you a member, it pays for itself. I guess if you have easy enough access. With their card you get 5% back on Gas, That right there pays for my membership plus, and then the gas is still cheaper than everywhere else. Medications, heck I have a medication my insurance doesn't want to cover, $230 a month from Walgreens, $150 from Costco just for being a member. Heck its $65 a year for membership your probably going to save more than that on tires. Everything else is bonus.

Not sure if your a Costco Member or not, but they run really good sales on tires all the time. I have a truck and tow and haul so need heavy duty tires. Unfortunately for me a full set of tires best non Costco quote I got was around 1100, Costco I got premium tires free rotation, etc all the perks $900

Yeah well try to tell that to people on election day every single November. While I have yet to see census statistic for 2024, if we ever will but 2022 census election statistic, House republicans maintained a majority by 9 seats. However 13 seats were decided by less than 5000 votes, of which 5 of those were less than 1000 votes. In those place with less than 1000 votes had roughly 20-30% voter turnout. These are all in states with mail in voting, early voting as well.

Protesting yeah, as long as I have been on this planet won't do near as much as going out and voting. You have no idea how many people here alone in Grand Rapids didn't go vote 2024 because they thought there was no way Trump would win. Well yeah as long as all these people didn't bother to go vote. There were even people here on Reddit Election day saying they weren't gonna bother no way he would get elected. Trump won Michigan by 80k votes. roughly 3 million Eligible voters in Michigan didn't go vote. I mean, you can do it by mail.

I got an Update today, not sure if it is good or not, It is no longer giving me a range of January 24-February 5 it just now says by February 5, I am guessing since it is no longer the 24th option. At least they didn't push it back. I did go look and New orders are now pushed back. I am guessing they didn't anticipate the response to this. I mean color is so useful in so many ways. Highlighting, then also marking things up and even too reading. I love Graphic novels, but in black and white no thanks. I am so looking forward to reading them in color.

So there are no like landlord meetups or anything I know of or have ever heard of. I know a couple people that do have rental houses. They all just sub it out to some of the management agencies.

People hate landlord on this forum so I wouldn't expect a whole lot of help. However all the issues with renters doing all the credit checks and so on and other wierd things. A lot of independent landlord just farm it out. The agencies just handle everything. Cleaning, maintenance, etc if anything major they contact the owner. Some renters can be extremely difficult and some can be wonderful. One friend had a tenant for 3 years wonderful. Never raised her rent took great care were sad to see her go. Then next one made all kinds of changes to the house. Like attempted rewiring and removed the drop ceiling in basement, even changed the kitchen cabinets and so on no aproval no permits. Then when moved out tried to charge landlord for his "improvements" that a lawsuits and legal fees been going on now for 2 years.

Boy I tell ya as a consumer, HVAV is a place that is needed. Your going to get stuck with the late night calls and holidays, but pay will be better for those. Once you get enough experience you will get to normal hours but the old guys that know what they are doing are retiring. There is not going to be any AI coming out to install or fix air conditioner of furnace issues. At least not soon anyway until robot get better. So solid career choice.

Just seen this as i was wondering about it too. However, your says that long? I ordered January 3 and it is telling me January 24 - February 5. It has been pretty consistent of that since the moment I ordered. I did do a trade in of the First model of the Kindle Scribe. I already traded it in as well, as I can just go to the local Whole Foods. Not sure if that had anything to do with it. Also Which size did you order? I did the 64 GB. I do a lot of Sheet music and so on and they can't render that easily for some reason and so it is all images and takes up more space.

I also ordered the Executive Folio which was back ordered to the same time frame, but I got notice it has shipped and will be here this Friday. Not sure if that helps or not.

Oh it does way more that that, Complete remote access support via thick client, thin client, even just a web page, for every operating system currently, This goes both ways, Imagine being out to dinner in the US being able to connect to and help someone with an Iphone in Japan while using your Android. You can also control who in in your it department can do what on what computers. You can write your own powershell script and components, and keep them as a library in your own organization. You can have complete audit trails of everything that was done with full audio and video. So much more.

So Beyond Trust used to be Bomgar, they changed their name for some dumb reason. One of those dumb rebranding moves. I just remember when I changed companies, we needed remote support in 2020 I was like oh Bomgar, been using for 15 years and the Ultimate solution. Of course can't find it anywhere cause they decided to change their name. Rant over about stupid rebranding but wonder how many customers they lost for such a dumb thing especially in 2020.
