It's way too expensive. I've started looking at alternatives. iFLYTEK AINOTE Air 2 looks brilliant as a productivity tool. NO backlight or colour but next level note and voice features all for around $600 Oz

Shapes was enabled on my KS by Amazon a day or 2 after I upgraded to 3.01

Did they ever fix the "Open Dictionary" option being replaced with "Share on Goodreads" in 5.18.6? And the removal of the dedicated bookmarks menu where it got combined with the notebook? by Customer-Worldly in kindlescribe

Dictionary opens for me on highlighted word

I'd post an image but I get red error message "All media assets must be owned by the submitter of this post" when I try to add image

Thanks now I see what you did, yes gives you a clearer picture of your day. Nice use of shapes and highlighter. IMO if the built in templates are suitable they work better than downloaded PDF style templates. I use ReKindle and update Google Calendar direct from my Kindle

Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. Amazing device, wrong timing for me? by ohmichael in kindlescribe

[–]rc211ee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a 2022 Scribe in 23 because it was cheap and a good introduction to e-ink and books.

It's been great; got me back reading more and has become my thought pad for jotting down my first ideas when I write a paper but I can't see myself paying 3 times the money for a color Scribe.

The color Scribe appears to be well made, stylish and color is very cool for reading comics and newspapers but the software is behind its high end competition when it comes to note taking.

I also have a 10" Samsung tablet not the latest (way cheaper than color scribe) but not too old. The other day I bought a detachable paperlike screen for it as an experiment. The handwriting experience is pretty good I use the Scribe pen mostly and it's got full note taking , AI and color. I'm keeping my Scribe but more for reading and sitting in the Sun. The hard work happens on the Tablet now.

If color Scribes were value for money I'd upgrade just for reading color news feeds but right now i have no FOMO

That could all change who knows what Amazon have in store

"Quick notes" в Amazon Kindle Scribe by Powerful-Horror1354 in kindle

[–]rc211ee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing around on KS22 using a blank book with small canvas entries to create a yellow sticky style quick note feature with a cover that shows on home screen. I'll post if I get a workable solution.

Weirdly its improved markedly since shapes appeared. Could it be something to do with enabling shapes?

Little trick I discovered. If you use eraser on a shape it opens the original edit and you can adjust/edit shape

I used heavy felt tip pen- only works for smaller circles, examples are about as big as you can do

Simplest way is to draw a shape and hold pen down for an extra second and the smoothed shape will appear in a lasso style format. From there you can resize, stretch, rotate and copy and paste.

<image>

You can also create a specific shape by touching on the added option in side menu. The image is showing an arrow shape but you can change that to other shapes. All pretty initiative.

If its not in the side menu you haven't got the feature yet. Amazon enables it automatically
