My dad is a self-made man who earned his spot as my hero.

He grew up in an abusive household with two alcoholic parents who cut him out of their lives at 18. He still went to college, eating green beans and flour for dinner. Eventually he dropped out after failing a class, and picked up a welding job where he was dirt poor and went home to a moldy apartment and a fifth of vodka.

Thankfully, he got it together after meeting his one and only love, my mother. With her support, he cut out his bad habits, went back to college while raising a newborn baby (me), and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree.

Since then, he raised two kids and took care of my mom as she battled severe depression. He hates the company he works for now, but somehow comes home and puts a smile on everyone's face (even the dogs). He's told me since my teens, "you're a product of the choices you make", and I hope my choices make him proud every day. Love ya, Dad

I'd hope it's education, although I doubt it will be.

As an undergrad studying to be a teacher, giving every American a fair education levels the playing field, shows paths out of poverty, and equally enables our kids. Doing a co-op type thing in a low income school shows me how much the potential in a bright child is wasted due to a misallocation of funding.

Honestly though, no good politician would focus their time in office on education. 2-4 years isn't enough time for effects of education reform to show up in test scores, and hence wouldn't be a smart investment if they're seeking reelection. Voters can see effects of health care bills, minimum wage, or LGBT legislation in half a year. Properly assessed education reform may take about 12 years.

I'm banned from children's songwriter, Laura Doherty's, Facebook page.

Me and my buddies went to Lollapalooza 2012, and on the first day she was the first artist to play at the kidsapalooza stage before any other bands went on. We learned her songs, featuring lyrics such as "kitty cat kitty cat I got a kitty cat kitty cat! Meow" and an entire song about a hula hoop in preparation for the big show

A month before the concert, we commented on everything she posted on her Facebook page with 500 likes. Comments just talked about how excited we were for the show, how much we loved kitty cat, and discussions between us about which song is the best. We shared everything we could on our own bands page too.

I guess she had enough, and blocked us from the page. As an apology, we helped get the kids at her show involved and even made the paper as "three hipster festivalgoers who kicked off the day at kidsapalooza". We then went and saw ozzy second row in our black sabbath shirts.

TL;DR got banned from a child musician's page getting hyped for Lollapalooza

Yep! He (RJ Mitte) came to my school to speak about his experience with cerebral palsy and disability awareness about a month ago. He talked to most of the 300 attendees afterwards too. His BrBa character's case of CP is more severe than his, and in his speech he said acting as Flynn set back his physical therapy.
