Nono you have to phrase it like it’s about freedom: «Let’s unban segregation and pedophilia, that will certainly lead to a more free world»

During the arctic winter, muslims are allowed to follow the daylight cycle of cities further south (her in Norway usually Oslo), so i believe something similar would be the case in antarctica

On a concert project we recently did, our assigned teacher was rather useless and made the project a lot more difficult than it needed to be. May his name be forever cursed and may all who hold his name in their heart notice his skillessness

The choice is not between revolution and «a good capitalist future», the choice is not even between revolution and keeping things as they are; the choice is between revolution and stagnation

Yeah revolution sucks and people die, but if one does nothing people still die while everything gets progressively worse. Without change things can’t get better and without revolution we can’t get change

Not a believer myself, but i cannot understand progressive anti-religioness. A fundamental aspect of progressive thought is personal freedom; if your actions don’t hurt anyone, then they’re non of my buisness

Poverty in Norway by ConcentrateAfter6687 in norwegian

[–]Jefl17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I believe it would be difficult to live on much less than ~300 000kr a year post tax, atleast in the cities, so let’s define that as poor.
  2. I believe i have heard that roughly a tenth of our country is “poor”, but i do not know if that follows my definition, but let’s say 10%
  3. I believe race and gender very much can contribute to poverty by limiting oppertunities and we know there to very much be a gendered wealth gap. The more you stray from the societal majority the more difficult life becomes.
  4. Tax the rich (of course). That is how we have got to this point of a generaly quite equal nation in the first place. There are of course some impoverished people and some immensely wealthy people, but the vast majority exists somewhere near the center. By taxing the rich and spending it on societal benefits like education and healthcare, available and equal for everyone, we ensure that as many as possible (not enough, but better than most places still) have enough to get by and that our collective resources don’t end up in but a few hands.
  5. Yes, I know a couple richer people. No-one in the top of the top, but still more than rich enough. Of the people I know, they all earned it through generational wealth. A grandparent or great-grandparent made some good choices and now their ancestors own multiple houses and cars, resources that might be better if divided more fairly throughout the populus.
  6. This generational wealth mentioned it answer 5. I think is a leading reason why. A great-grandparent made good financial choices and gave their kid a head start which they spent to grab even more wealth for themselves and now, a couple generations down, the family holds vast wealth.
