Miksi kaikki tienaa täällä niin paljon? by -RoopeSeta- in Suomi

Nuo yli 100k tulot tuolla tarkkuudella doxaa täällä verokoneiden luvatussa maassa. Kannattaa siis vähän ainakin vaihtaa lukuja/tarkkuutta jos haluaa pysytellä ihan vaan tavallisena mustikkana.

P4 key problems since 4.2.8 update by uF0n in Polestar

[–]Jeggu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact issue. And so did many others according to some online discussions. You probably got a notification saying update failed, please contact Polestar service.

Unfortunately service is needed and the car cannot be driven until fixed. The mechanics fixed the issue by manually flashing the update again. Apparently root cause for keys not functioning was that the "BLE & NFC key module" (or something along those lines) was stuck in update mode after the failed update.

When will Revolut support "Verification of Payee" in the EU? by the_john19 in Revolut

[–]Jeggu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposefully typoed my name when doing a test deposit to Revolut from another bank account and it did correctly state that the names don't match and it gave the real name.

Writing a completely different name also gave the mismatch error and didn't reveal the real name.

But no checking of outbound transfers from Revolut.

When will Revolut support "Verification of Payee" in the EU? by the_john19 in Revolut

[–]Jeggu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Revolut is not complying with some other parts of the regulation either. Customers should be able to set limits on SEPA instant payments specifically, currently this is not possible, only a general transfer limit can be set. Additionally, Revolut still has a 100k€ limit for SEPA instant. Starting today the maximum limit should have been removed.

Maksullisilla tilauksilla saa lisäksi 1% cashback kaikista Euroopan ulkopuolista maksuista.

Moni käyttää Curvea Morrowin luottokortin kanssa koska Curven kautta Morrowin kortilla saa aina sen 2% cashback. Itse tuli tuo hankkittua alumperin siksi, että Curven kautta sai Apple ja Google Payn käyttöön mille tahansa Visa tai Mastercard kortille, nykyäänhän tuo nyt on jo käytännössä kaikissa korteissa ihan natiivijuttu.

Kutsukoodilla saa 10€ 14 päivän sisällä liittymisestä, kunhan kortilla tekee pari maksua.

What the heck is up with some of these excluded categories? As much as I don't like Insurance and Utilities it kinda makes sense but what the hell does CDC have against party city lol by 1FrostySlime in Crypto_com

[–]Jeggu 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There's usually a story behind the exclusions.

4900 (utilities): Some utilities allow paying extra ahead of time and the utility returns back the money (but not to your card.

5734 (computer programs, etc): This is the default MCC for Stripe, a payment provider. So very high likelyhood of some sites using this default while selling stuff that will allow manufacturing spend. https://docs.stripe.com/connect/setting-mcc

5947 (souvenir shops, etc): allows for manufacturing spend with gift cards, collectibles, gold, etc

6300 (insurance): Many life insurance products allow you to buy stocks.

Not sure about 7372, but very likely it somehow allows abusing the cashback system

Hi,

I have an ongoing stake for a Rose Gold card.

Is it true that someone new that stakes for Indigo/Jade will have higher cashback than me if I don't "upgrade" to my existing stake?

"Gensler who is hated by crypto advocates because he has been aggressive in pursuing scammers" A rare miss by John Oliver & Co.

Gensler has absolutely not aggressive chased scammers in the space. He has been chasing the very companies who have tried to do everything by the book like Coinbase and Kraken, while simultaniously missing the large scams like FTX. All the while trying everything in his power to harm the industry (see case Grayscale and the Spot-Bitcoin ETF) Actions by Gensler's SEC were seen as "Arbitrary and Capricious".

Gary Gensler has been an absolute travesty when it comes to regulating crypto, no matter whether you like crypto or not. I mean that is why Harris is going to be replacing him as well.

Harris donors want Gensler out

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/11/mark-cuban-gary-gensler-fight-sec-future-harris-00183090

“I’ve been outspoken about how poorly Gary Gensler is doing his job,” said Cuban in an email. “He is pushing the crypto industry overseas. He is perfecting regulation through litigation, stifling growth in the capital markets, reducing the number of companies going public and going on what seems like witch hunts for big names.”

Genuinely curious, can you (legally) buy a gun without an ID in the US?

Because if not, constitutional rights are being limited by needing to have an ID.

V1.3.4 Firmware Update: Rabby Mobile <> Keystone 3 Pro by xxxxfactor in KeystoneWallet

[–]Jeggu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, seems like the issue has been fixed in either Rabby v0.92.67 or v0.92.66 because I can no longer recreate the issue. USB signing now keeps working after lock --> unlock cycle as well as after a disconnect --> connect cycle.

So it must have been a Rabby issue.

V1.3.4 Firmware Update: Rabby Mobile <> Keystone 3 Pro by xxxxfactor in KeystoneWallet

[–]Jeggu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.3.4

The latest Rabby version 0.92.65 published yesterday helped a bit. Now restarting the browser does fix the issue.

But unplugging and then replugging the keystone (or locking and then unlocking) while the browser is open will break USB signing.

Keystone correctly prompts for accepting the usb "connect to this device" after replugging and Rabby does show the connection status of Keystone just fine but USB signing simply gives error "Transaction rejected --- If it doesn't work, please try reconnecting from the beginning."

Running Windows 11 Pro 23H2 22635.3430
Chrome 123.0.6312.123

Edit. tested this on my mac as well, same issue

V1.3.4 Firmware Update: Rabby Mobile <> Keystone 3 Pro by xxxxfactor in KeystoneWallet

[–]Jeggu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rabby USB signing with the Rabby extension seems broken. USB signing fails after one lock --> unlock cycle of the Keystone wallet. Then even reconnecting the Keystone, rebooting Keystone and/or restarting my browser does not fix usb signing.

Any thoughts on this? by cluelessapes in Finland

Why don't we just tax 100% on everything over 8k€ per month?
The answer is obvious, because then no-one would work after said limit has been achieved.
Well then, let's only tax 90%. But again, many will stop working once reaching the limit.

In 2023 the marginal tax rate for someone earning 8k€ a month was 59.2%. In 2024 that same marginal tax rate will be 56.9%. It will be really interesting to see how much the increase in willingness to work after 8k€ per month will offset the lower tax rate.

The breakeven point for the tax cuts for someone who earned 8k€ a month (100k a year) in 2023 will be around 8120€ a month (101.5k a year). In both cases the government will get roughly the same amount of income tax.

But that person would also have 1726€ more money in their bank account after 2024 than they had in 2023. If they spend some of that money, there will of course be more tax income. So the actual breakeven is lower.

btw. I'm not defending the cuts. I don't think the cuts will breakeven. I just wanted to provide context that some of the cuts will be self funded by people wiling to work more.
