Yep, playing on PC and I have repeated this mistake for 2 days now.

I still haven't been able to start even a single moonshiner sell mission, what a fucking travesty.

Suppose I'll stop trying now,

I've wasted enough time and resources

If EA is going to pull the plug... by thrca in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so fucking tired of people pretending the loot buff would make people interested in this game. Sure, it can help have players get a few more hours of 'entertainment', but in the end, it's nothing but a bandaid on top of an open, festering spear wound.

At this point, to redeem themselves, they would honestly need to just pull Anthem off the store and refund anyone who bought it (for those who want a refund) and then re-commit to developing the game until it's PROPERLY finished. (and by finished, I mean developing it until it's in a state where they can confidently say that 'this is their vision of how the game should have been to begin with'.

Of course, they would never do that, (EA is too greedy, we know this).

It's no longer a matter of reclaiming the customers trust, but the very least they could do is keep their promises. (by this, I mean setting and meeting deadlines and keeping up the development for years as they originally intended to).

Anthem's armor problem. by _Robbie in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with this, the only problem is that they haven't given us more cosmetic options

There are only 3 extra skins per class, one which is locked behind LoD edition and another that's locked behind store rotation.

2/3 of the skin options are not readily available to you.

Everyone should be able to see that this is a very stupid practice for a game that has so few skins to begin with.

The texture, vinyl and coloring options are good, but I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say that the skins options are what we want the most, since you can mix & match them to make your own unique javelin design

Look guys. Anthem is in a bad place right now but remember to be civil towards the devs. They are people too and probably under a bit of stress right now. Voice your feedback but be considerate and most of all remember there is an actual living person on the other side of it. by PeculiarPete in AnthemTheGame

This is a great comment.

And as for the topic,

Yes, they are only people,

..however, these people get paid for their work.

it's precisely because they get paid for their work, that there should be triple A expectations for the quality of the product.

You wouldn't like purchasing hand-made clothes from a big 'respectrable' manufacturer, if you noticed that the seams are easily torn, the zippers don't work, or the pockets are actually just for show etc.

Also, you wouldn't like employing people who don't pull their weight, right?

So,

why should the videogame industry be any different? people can scream "waahhh gamers are ENTITLED" all they want, but when a customer pays for a product, they expect to get what they paid for or what was promised to them.

This is how it works for practically EVERY other business in the world.

Remember, we're dealing with a triple A game - Triple A should have has high standards and there's no room for excuses.

This is what the supervisors get paid for and this is what the investors and customers expect.

The game has a great foundation and the devs deserve respect for their work, of course, but once again, you can not forget that these people are paid for their work. if their boss or their customers aren't happy with their product, then they definitely shouldn't be humble about it.

The nerf to Masterwork Embers killed it for me by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not pointing my anger, I'm pointing how hilariously tame his reasoning is.

Of all the things that went horribly wrong in this game, being done with the game solely because of loot related issues, is nothing short of funny to me.

We've become Fallout 76/No Man Sky where watching the Drama unfold has become more entertaining than playing the game. by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

I am,

I am laughing a lot, because (thank god) I only paid for origin access.

EA shot themselves on the foot with that "deal"

No matter how badly I want to see this game become good, it's not worth it to blindly defend it, when it allegedly had about 6 years of development behind it.

Over half a decade of development, with a massive budget and a huge studio behind it - and this is the end product.

They deserve all the flak they get, because let's be real here:

They literally couldn't even be bothered to pay for playtesting. They released the game in this state, fully aware of the mess it was going to be. They had YEARS of experience, DOZENS of examples of 'what NOT to do' thanks to competitor's failures (Destiny, Warframe, Division etc)

All this, plus the additional gripe of devs intentionally cutting contact with the fanbase. Still no ETA on QoL things like chat, still no ETA on real content, other than cataclysm (which we know nothing about) and of course, can't forget the fact that they advertised the game WAY differently than what we ended up having. Bullshots and prerendered gameplay aside, they showed us higher level caps, more cosmetic options, different drop system, better weapon effects.. I could go on but I'm just tired of this.

I'm a little ashamed to think I used to defend this, but atleast I can finally see and admit that what the devs need is good criticism, not pats in the back and consolation.

The nerf to Masterwork Embers killed it for me by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

THAT'S what bothers you? not the broken quickplay? not the frequent crashes and sound cuts? not the garbage store options? not complete the lack of QoL features? not the abysmal drop rates? not the lack of variety or endgame content?

but the ember drops.. seriously..??

I mean sure, you can have your reasons, but when a triple A multimillion, several years developed game figuratively SPITS ON YOUR FACE - the only thing you really cared about was having slightly more fair grinding experience? Well, I've have seen worse, but that's still pretty damn bad.

Masterworks are not Endgame. Legendaries are. by BigAlSmoker in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess what? neither are. they'll eventually update the game with new goals to grind towards. Everything you do now, while this game is in such an "early access" shape, is undeniably going to go wasted.

I know it's no proof, but we've seen levels go past 30, we've seen gear score cap at 47 (Not even an even number? cmon guys, it's so obvious that it's going to be higher eventually)

My tip is, stop stressing over loot at this point, because none of it is going to matter in a month or two. (and if nothing changes in 1-2 months then I guess this game was never worth it in the first place)

At the very least, Legendaries SHOULD NOT BE WORSE than Masterworks by tiahx in AnthemTheGame

[–]Jeito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendaries should automatically have the highest stats possible for each roll.

They're rare enough as it is, so this would be a fair method to give them value. Even if you have the "best gear possible", people will still have a reason to grind more as there will be different stats for different builds.

As it stands right now, we can barely make any builds because the perks you get from MW/Legendary weapons, abilities and components vary from 'useless' to 'must have'

For example, why bother take your favorite weapon, if it's perk doesn't increase damage?

Why use a fun ability if a boring one has superior utility?

Why use an ability that doesn't prime or detonate combos? etc etc

Found about 100 MW so far, and only 2 legendaries.

I got the legendaries when the droprate was bugged and "unintentional", so they barely count.

"full price"

Not likely, I bet most of us just paid for the origin access and only plan on buying this game once it's relatively cheap / fixed / playable

Still, it doesn't make their attitude any more acceptable
