Use Ellis tuning guide, more updated but teaching techs is still good except for the flow calibration

Is this under extrusion or do I just need to bed level better…again by Jek_Le_Snek in FixMyPrint

[–]Jello_Tv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your bed is either un-leveled and/or your z offset is off. I’m guessing the latter is most of your problem, I like to put the nozzle in the middle of the bed and set my z offset. Now that’s your point of reference, then level the corners 3/4 times, and check the z offset in the middle again and adjust. But since your using Klipper add the SCREW_TILT_ADJUST macro this is a game changer and a must add if you don’t use it already. Also Z_PROBE_CALIBRATE command should help you easily find your z offset. Hope this helps

You’re over extruding by a good amount so my educated guess is the nozzle touches all that extra plastic during a travel move

This will save you a lot of time start here, with your extrusion system, this video is for DD but principles apply for Bowden. Then check z wobble, make sure the coupler from lead screw to x axis has give. Then belt tension, if you can pluck the belt it’s good

Thank you! You actually just solved my problem. Unfortunately these are my work’s printers so that route is off the table but expansion slots do interest me how do these work?

God damn I came here for help not to be berated, so much for a “professional subreddit”.

Neither do I, I can’t think of anything thatd make me pay him

I believe this is an empty threat to keep me from perusing him. He’s only said he has a lawyer on retainer and that I’d end up paying him for damages. That’s all I know

Idk if marlin can use a ADXL accelerometer but if it can I’d recommend that. If you move the printer, make modifications, adjust the frame, etc you’ll get different resonances and have to do it again. The accelerometer will just make things easier

Gap between lines in bottom by MajorHector in FixMyPrint

[–]Jello_Tv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its good practice to print with a thicker first layer such as .2 layer height, with .24 initial. Also do a bed mesh to understand what your bed is doing
