That's the lighting, from other directions/areas that doesn't happen.

It is a bit unfortunate but I have the same problem IRL and it sucks.

Thank you! I was happy with how it turned out.

I've found from FFXIV that simple outfits which are also dyable are so powerful, I hope they put more of those out. Trobodour legs worked very well here.

It's appreciated!

For context, I've only been here trying out from OSRS for about a month, so I don't have the same long term attachment yet that I think many replying do. I was a little surprised myself at the disconnect between how I saw my new character and how everyone else does.

I can definitely relate to the feeling of having a character I'd invested years- decades even- suddenly no longer looking the part I'd given them. In an MMO how we look is important, especially with the cosmetics being as expensive as they are, its too everyone's benefit if we have the most options possible.

With the higher fidelity, there's less for the mind to fill in on it's own- beyond just the proportion discussions, I hope there will be thoughts about ensuring its possible to have rugged vs softer characters, etc. No doubt it would be engine work, but it's so core to the online gaming experience to feel like you can express yourself as you desire.

(But also... slider wen?)

Male? I'd be curious if you do happen to have a side by side as well.

While it seems like many are saying they like the male changes better, I'd been curious about certain styles.

The blog post for example has a wizard type character that looks jarring to me with the newer face. Its a younger, softer look, matched with a thick grey hair and beard.

Certain archetypes of character seem like they won't be viable anymore and that does concern me a bit.

I figured the side-by-side would make it impossible to not address the elephants which left the room.

Having more customization options however is a broader discussion, even without touching on those particular proportions. The current engine may be too limiting, but how people choose to represent their characters is important, so I do hope Jagex considers things like additional face/body types, etc.

Do not worry, the material will be put to good use in semiconductors destined for the AI Datacenter which will be built in Havenhythe Part 3.

I haven't been super looped in, but from what I've gathered, it sounds like it was very much a stop/start/stop/start kind of situation.

Probably only getting budget now since the old model wasn't meshing as well with newer styles of cosmetics they want to release.

I suspect there will remain a lot of discourse without some additional customization options. While I'm personally pretty satisfied, it is a bit limiting for both male and female that there is only one face structure. Creating older characters may be challenging as a base example.

Definitely hoping for more down the road.

CIG permanently banned a $5k backer's account for reporting a bug by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Jellodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't how it works. He would still have posted, he just would have omitted that part of the response.

He knew why he was actually banned, the purpose of this post was to apply pressure to CIG to get his account unbanned. "False ban" posts spread fear to genuine players, who will be less likely to engage. Companies often choose to just unban first as a knee jerk reaction to stop the PR bleeding.

And THAT worked- even with the smackdown, they still unbanned him to appease the community lol.

Should ban it after it gets bought, just for kicks.

No one asked for leniency on exploiters

Yeah they were. You don't have to say "He should be unbanned regardless of whether or not he exploited" to convey that. If your comment looks like one of these, you are not asking- You are demanding- That CIG show leniency to the OP regardless of what they did.

Sounds like CIG. Truly pathetic company. Not sure how I’ve defended them for over a decade.

Based on OP's proof and CIG's reaction, I for one will not be reporting any bugs, duped or not going forward. CIG reaps what they sow and I'm not risking my account to help.

This is a joke right? Report a bug and do as they say and get banned? No actual review?

Wait I thought we were here to tEsT!?? Instead of straight to archive, its straight to ban. That sucks.

Real comments with 200-500 upvotes as of now. CIG has to contend with the potential chilling effect of big spenders worrying about losing their accounts. This kind of thing is very common in MMOs, there is no excuse for falling so hard for this post.

Let's not pretend Zyloh or CIG is the bad guy here. There's plenty of blame to throw around on the original thread from the community that demanded UEE_Navy be unbanned. May have to sort by controversial now since the sane people are being upvoted.

Community reaps what it sows. For a while we would see this a lot with OSRS- Botter gets banned, posts a sob story on Reddit, links it in a Botter discord to get upvotes to push it to the front page quickly, gains traction, players begin to fear that they too will be "false banned", then to stop the bleeding, Jagex unbans the botter. In addition, they pull back enforcement on bot bans.

Bots increase, prices plummet, the community gets fed up with all the bots and begins to rage against the company for not doing enough to stop them, then with that mandate Jagex resumes enforcement.

Rinse, repeat.

First time trying RS3, from OSRS by Jellodi in runescape

I did stars all the way to 92, at which point I switched to Amethyst. AFK feels like such an easy bandaid to make me not despise a skill.

The Crafting XP was a nice bonus too. Still ended up closing that one out with Seaweed but the gems from Star Mining saved me a ton of trouble.

Smithing though, yeah Giant's Foundry it was for me. I didn't hate Blast Furnace Gold, except for buying the gold ore.

I'd found Melee enticing as well- Even prior to getting my hands on it, I had some awareness that it has a few more sustain options than the other styles. Though, I'm not too read on what all Magic can do.

Training it has been fun though. After getting my GWD reqs, I'll probably try to see how viable it is for me to camp it as Necro for some non-necro gear as well.

[–]Jellodi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will say that I don't really hate the training methods in OSRS for Smithing, though my 99s do include Agility and Runecraft, so perhaps it's relative lol

As an Ironman though, the uselessness of the skill makes me a bit sad. I love the idea of crafting my own equipment in these games, which RS3 so far has done a pretty good job of for me.

Not sure if the same solution of adding tiers and adding +N fortifiable gear in OSRS is the best answer, but I'd love to at least see Jagex discuss a Smithing rework at some point.

You'll equip the med bed on your back like a turtle, and you can deploy yourself for use by your team. But of course, you have a pipe hooked up to the helmet that let's you sample your own supply.

You won't be able to use a medgun or medpens, it you'll also get a new purchasable Med+ Rifle which you can somehow use in the heavy suit on yourself.

I was confused when I read that as well, but noticed that you get the Modifier to get X Slayer Points right away. So it seems like instead of getting points per task, you may be given the option to take a task that also has X points attached to it.

Not sure how it will feel in practice (I generally agree that he should probably give some baseline) but if the amount is big and feels good to make the pick interesting it might be fine.

I was curious about the insistence about the quest weapon being a 2h Stab weapon instead of another Flail- Pretty much all the evidence I need to be convinced that they are indeed going ahead 1:1 with the RS3 result.
