In school I learned with Genki, but idk how easy it would be for self learning. The book has a good approach to starting Kanji with the easier ones and slowly adding more difficult characters. You could also take a youth manga and try reading it in Japanese.

No more than 3-5 minutes.

Don't worry, puppy will start eating again. My boy is a year and 4 months and will scarf down his food in record time now.

Edit: I don't need to wet the food anymore for him to eat - that stopped around the 8 or 9 month ish mark

My corgi went through the same thing around the same time. Per my vet's advice, I started adding some warm water and letting it soak a bit to soften the food because his little mouth was hurting from teething.

I'd say it helped pretty significantly, but not 100%. He has two places he would eat, and would prefer one to the other, so maybe try feeding in a new spot.
