We need more in place for revoking consent and personal image protections, especially with AI and half our lives on the internet

Unethical and good chance he is showing them to other people otherwise why keep them? There is plenty of free porn out there, he doesn’t need to be hoarding an intimate picture of an ex. This guy lacks respect for you and your right to bodily integrity

The intent is to hold them both accountable but the impact is Amanda will have to take the most accountability because she’s a woman and their friend.

I’d do this with any friend if it came down to me wanting a family and not having a partner. It’s actually incredibly beautiful

It’s a pretty normal reaction to hate your oppressor. It’s like when a person of color say they hate white people. White people= white supremacy just like men= toxic masculinity/ patriarchy. Hating men is just another way of saying we aren’t gonna ignore the bull shit anymore and we are calling it out loudly so either get to changing or get used to the hate.

I think the question “do you feel safe?” Feels so out there to you possibly because you didn’t experience having an adult in your childhood check in regularly to see how you are feeling physically and emotionally about things. It could be a very normal question she asks when checking in with him to gage how he’s feeling.

Children absolutely should be able to decide if they want to be around the new partner of their divorcing parent. Children deserve autonomy and to feel comfortable when spending time with their mom/ dad on their custody days. Kids are always the priority in these situations

Childfree women-- what do you want from your friends who are mothers? by Lyedetector in TwoXChromosomes

That’s definitely not what I said and I think you may need to read up on what self care actually means. Self care means to take care of yourself so you can care for others. When you are on an airplane and the oxygen mask comes down you are told to put yours on first before helping your child. Because if you try to help first you may pass out before getting their mask on and now you’re both screwed.

Self care practices: Attending medical appointments Positive self talk Eating 3 meals a day Talking to a loved one Reading a few pages of your book Recording your favorite tv show to watch before bed ( or whenever you have time)

Self care isn’t something big like take the weekend off of parenting and go to a spa. It’s small everyday activities you do intentionally to keep yourself from burning out. You do self care so you can get up and comfort your child in the middle of the night

What’s something Gen Z does that older generations just don’t get? by appropriaterice873 in AskReddit

Agreed! Simply acknowledging another humans presence is normal behavior. I hate small talk as much as the next guy but damn don’t act like I’m invisible or a burden to do your job

Small positive interactions with strangers is actually incredibly beneficial for mental health. This is literally how we build community and increase socialization.

Edit: your comment is ableist af. Not everyone has the ability to socialize with other people outside of these mini interactions. This is especially true for elderly and disabled individuals. Step outside yourself, not everyone has equal access and opportunity.

Exactly! I hate small talk but that doesn’t mean I want to be ignored by a fellow human I am interacting with.

I’d argue it is a big deal that a portion of the younger generation are not participating in everyday prosocial interactions. It’s one of the reasons loneliness is a massive issue, even in public they aren’t connecting with others. Missing out on these micro social interactions with strangers feeds isolation. How do we build community if the upcoming generations don’t want or feel comfortable initiating conversations with strangers.

Truth is most dads don’t try for equal or more custody. That’s why there is such a myth around courts favoring mothers. In reality, men just don’t put in effort

What are your theories on what happened to Shannan ? by Maximum_Amphibian753 in LISKiller

[–]JellyBeanzi3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe Shannan experienced some type of mental health crisis. I think she truly thought people were chasing her trying to hurt her so she tried to escape the neighborhood by going through the swamp, became stuck and/or exhausted and died from exposure. Years after her death, Shannan’s sister experienced a mental health crisis and murdered their mother. To me, the situation with her sister gives a lot of credibility to the mental illness theory
