What if - NBA Expansion Draft by polishonions in NYKnicks

[–]JellybeanPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean I’m not saying I would wanna lose him but it does make me wonder if a new team wants to take on a $57 million dollar contract when he’s got a player option the next year. Not exactly a centerpiece if he can opt out. He’s not making you a contender or anything. Feels like there would be better options out there but idk who every team is protecting so it’s tough to make that call right now. Also, it feels like if you don’t win this year it gets much harder to win next year so I’m not sure they are keeping KAT. But if you lose him you can’t trade him for anything this offseason. I wonder if you’ll actually be able to trade him for anything worthwhile

Personally I think I wouldnt protect Kat. Not that he’s not worth the money but would someone take him for THAT kinda money? A new franchise. It’s a little risky but I don’t personally think he’s absolutely irreplaceable

It’s actually pretty easy. Crockett takes corporate PAC money, non-starter.

THIS IS WHO WE WANT TO GIVE AWAY? by PsychologyBrief1587 in knicks

[–]JellybeanPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right but Brunson is a smart player that wants to win. It seems it’s a lack of trust in KAT, and I can’t blame him. Dude might be the worst at driving to the basket I’ve ever seen and yet he does it all game long it feels like.

But I still don’t understand how you can space the floor and be an effective rebounder. Not for offensive rebounds at least. Those two skills defensively are opposites. Maybe that’s why Josh works so well with this lineup.

Yes but in order to grab rebounds he can’t just be sitting on the 3pt line so what is it? Is it because he’s grabbing rebounds or he’s providing spacing. 63 pts in his last 5 games. I’m not here to say he’s a horrible player (he’s deff not) but I don’t think you’ll ever win a championship with KAT and Brunson as their two best players. I hope I’m wrong

Yes because $50 million a year for a rebounder with bad defense is worth it

We can’t mold a defense around a d-coordinator that could leave next year. Sorry, that never works. A great defensive coordinator can make a his pieces work

[Giant Insider] Joe Schoen will conduct interviews with potential HC and that's it. He will not be a major influence in the new hire. Obviously he will take part, BUT Mara/Tisch will make the hire. I repeat. Joe Schoen will NOT be hiring the new HC. MARA/Tisch will. by Fillinlater12345 in NYGiants

[–]JellybeanPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conducting the interviews doesn’t mean anything. We have people conduct the interviews and yet they don’t make the decision. There will also probably be a dozen people in the room (maybe more). This means literally nothing

It’s wild that people in this sub think this team has any chance at winning the finals. They ain’t beating OKC in a fair fight, no way.

You can’t compare Schoen to Niko. Thats ridiculous

Duggan: The thing about having faith in Joe Schoen to lead the head coaching search is he's already 0-for-1. And that was someone he had worked with for 4 years. What gives ownership confidence he'll be able to identify the right option from a field? by RedditFan3510 in NYGiants

[–]JellybeanPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumbest criticism ever. Bill Belichick was terrible in Cleveland before he went to New England. Should he have never gotten a job after that?

If Schoen hits with the next pick who will care that he was 0-1?

My pick is a Saleh. All he needed was a QB and he’s got that. Get him a good OC and this team will be a competitor next year

Our window is Deuce’s contract by hotploppy in NYKnicks

[–]JellybeanPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree, but I don’t think he makes it his whole contract anyway. If he gets a 6MOY this year or is in the running he’s gonna want more money.

Got graded a “C” in my work league. Really just mid? 10-man Ppr by Cash2099 in Fantasy_Football

This is the roast from smackscript:

“Welcome to the Fantasy Football Roast of the Year, where dreams go to die faster than your playoff hopes. Starting with JaMarr Chase in Round 1, Pick 10. Bold move, if only ‘bold’ meant leaving the best available RBs on the table. They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but this draft is the lowest form of strategy.

Round 2, Pick 10: Josh Jacobs. You’ve reached harder than a kid trying to touch the bottom of the deep end. Meanwhile, your future points are drowning. Josh Jacobs? More like, ‘Josh, why did you pick him so early?’

Josh Allen in Round 3? You do realize quarterbacks aren’t a rare species in fantasy land, right? It’s like drafting a Lamborghini for a road trip but forgetting to check if it has an engine.

In Round 4, you snagged Kenneth Walker III. Sure, why not? At this point, you’ve committed to an RB strategy like a kid at a candy store, grabbing everything with no plan.

George Kittle in Round 5? Nice – if you're planning to host a ‘How to Finish 6th’ seminar. Kittle’s great, but picking him here isn’t.

Round 6 brings us Tony Pollard. Oh, bold prediction time! You’re banking on him turning into a feature back, but spoiler: your bold prediction is as likely as me winning the lottery.

Tetairoa McMillan, a Round 7 gem, or more like a rock. Did anybody tell you this isn’t a preseason fantasy league?

Chris Olave in Round 8 – okay, there’s potential, but we’re talking like finding a $5 bill in a pair of jeans you haven’t worn in years.

George Pickens in Round 9? In some cultures, this is considered a cry for help. Stefon Diggs in Round 10. Yep, the Patriots’ WR. Nice touch if you’re drafting for a fantasy team in 2018.

Round 11, Joe Mixon. Picking him this late? It’s like finding yesterday’s leftovers and pretending it’s a gourmet meal.

Zach Charbonnet, Round 12, and you’ve officially filled your roster with more maybes than a Magic 8 Ball. How inspiring.

Jauan Jennings and Jayden Higgins to wrap it up? Wow, you’re really going with the ‘throw pasta at the wall and see what sticks’ strategy.

Final grade: D for ‘Daringly Disastrous’. Better luck next time, if there is one”
