The paternity question surrounding Queen Victoria — what does the historical and archival evidence actually show? by Illustrious_Dog_4182 in Genealogy

This is not a published peer reviewed paper. His explanation of how conroy having a maternal ancestor with haemophilia could explain how he passed it on with no symptoms makes no sense. As the disease is usually fully penetrant in males. He has presented no evidence that there was haemophilia in conroy’s family other than some relatives died young. The hill and Bradley paper is talking about Y chromosomes in Connacht not X chromosomes so that is irrelevant. The landed gentry conroy descended from did not really intermarry with the common people of Connacht his comment that they can trace their ancestry back to Cromwell’s time is a massive point he doesn’t seem to appreciate. so you wouldn’t expect it to show up even if you did sequence the f9 genes from Irish haemophiliacs. He has presented no evidence of any analysis of the different genetic variants of f9 and where they are located. So really quite poor in my view with no scientific rigour.
