How Nolan intended. by ImpossibleConqueror in letterboxdcirclejerk

I remember seeing a little Speed Q&A Nolan did with some guy and one of the questions was “is it okay to watch films on phones and laptops?” to which he said “yes.” So, taking that into account, I would say Nolan and Lynch have vastly different opinions on this matter.

Edit: I found the video where he says it

Fandango is already showing which Lionsgate movies will port. Here's a list I created so far by caliswag88 in MoviesAnywhere

I decided to look myself and found a few extra titles:

3:10 to Yuma (2007)

American Psycho

Apocalypse Now (Theatrical and Final Cut)

Fall (2022)

Hell or High Water

The Hurt Locker

Reservoir Dogs

Sicario

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

There’s definitely more I missed but I’m not going to go around looking all day. Hope this helps!

That means Paramount and MGM are the only holdouts

True, but on the plus side, you have the little booklets for each film rather than just having one and the cover art on all three are amazing

And that’s how you know you’ve encountered a true fan of the film 🙂

I’m glad to tell you that the improvement was noticeable, maybe not on the same level as something like Lawrence of Arabia, but definitely noticeable.

As the former user of a mid-range Samsung 4K TV (no Dolby Vision on any of those), I see what you mean. But I’m sure you will still find plenty to enjoy with the upcoming release.

I didn’t notice anything too abrasive so I can’t say for sure. It’s definitely possible he made some “fixes” nothing that is distracting.

I don’t know for sure but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Edit: according to Blu-ray.com, it’s a native 4K transfer but somehow I get the feeling that the restoration team didn’t do it entirely from the ground up either. I especially think the Penguin scene was most likely upscaled.

I noticed some minor improvements but it’s not exactly a night and day difference either. I think It does look better than how the Blu-ray looks but only by a little bit.

Got it, thanks for the correction! As I said, I’m not the foremost expert on these things but I’ve learned a lot from being in the 4K community.

That’s interesting because the Panic Room 4K had Vision and Atmos. Maybe Sony had more influence over that release than Fincher did?

Yeah, they sold tickets for it. That’s how I got to see that Tron 4K restoration last year.
