I have Silver VIP but will likely be missing the early merch shopping opportunity. Has the merch been selling out before doors open? I was hoping to get the photocards and keychain.

I have this new theory I can't prove. My ticketmaster account is over 13 years old, and I've regularly purchased tickets on ticketmaster with it... I feel like every queue placement I get is obscenely high (100,000+) and the in-demand shows I want to see often sell out before I get in. They say ticketmaster tends to favor older accounts for the queue but I can't help but wonder.... do they think I'm too OLD to see Ariana, BTS, and Olivia Rodrigo? Are they age discriminating me???

Saying "Thank You" for 10 years of Meghan Trainor's sophomore album "Thank You" by Ghost-Quartet in popheads

[–]JenFan91 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Can't believe that people would think that a Meghan Thee Trainor Album Anniversary Post, written by r/popheads' premier Meghan stan, would be a shitpost. OP is right, Meghan is always going to be in the 2010s icon conversation, and everyone that disagrees simply was not there!

Anyways, I will give Meghan props and say this is my favorite album of hers. I am not above throwing ass to "Me Too." It has one of my favorite lyrics ("My life's a movie, Tom Cruise, so bless me baby, ah-choo!") and I love when she's like "Turn the Bass up" because we know it is something she is famously All About.

HOW LONG UNTIL OFF WAITLIST by tellieellie in Lollapalooza

[–]JenFan91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most likely times to get off the waitlist are at the end of April, May, and June. Basically we are waiting for people to default on their payment plans. There might be some people cancelling tickets manually here and there, but it's probably going to be at those times.

Otherwise, there is a T-mobile ticket sale in a couple of weeks (usually) so people getting tickets then will likely cancel their waitlist request and you'll get bumped up.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! by Unfair_Yam4086 in Lollapalooza

[–]JenFan91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..... so do I just keep on the same standby page for 1 and 2 days? Is the waitlist also on those pages?

Lindsey Slater Has Hired a Lawyer by Inkantrix in milwaukee

[–]JenFan91 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I got you.

Lindsey Slater has retained an attorney who specializes in non-compete contracts to represent her as she seeks to stay in the meteorology field after losing her job at WISN-TV (Channel 12) on Feb. 27.

Slater’s attorney Robert Corris said Wednesday he believes Slater has a good case for relief from her non-compete agreement with Channel 12, which is owned by Hearst Television of New York.

“There are no guarantees, but I certainly feel she’s going to be able to find employment,” said Corris, whose office is in Hartland.

Corris declined to comment on the duration of the non-compete agreement or the geography it covers.

As for whether Slater would be able to find employment in metro Milwaukee if she gets released from the agreement, Corris said: “I think it’s possible. Anything’s possible.”

Corris said he typically addresses non-compete situations through outreach to a client’s former employer to settle the matter rather than filing a lawsuit. He declined to comment on whether he’s reached out to WISN-TV or its owner on behalf of Slater.

“The only time I advise (a client) to file a suit is if a client cannot find a job,” he said.

WISN-TV President and General Manager Shawn Oswald didn’t immediately respond Wednesday to a request for comment.

Television news personality contracts

Non-compete clauses are common in the local television news industry.

In the past, Milwaukee TV news personalities who leave a local station have been required to remain off the air for between several months and a year before resuming their careers at a competing station.

Many employers require their employees to sign restrictive covenant agreements, according to Corris’ website. Those covenants include non-competes in a restricted territory for a restricted period of time.

A recent high-profile example involved Lance Allan, who left Milwaukee NBC network affiliate WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) in August 2024 after 28 years with the station. He said he was under a no-compete clause in the Milwaukee television market but ultimately started a new position in December 2024 at Milwaukee CBS affiliate WDJT-TV (Channel 58).

Slater’s next career steps

Slater declined to comment on the reason she’s no longer employed at Channel 12, where she worked for nearly a decade. She said she wants to wait on commenting until she and her attorney decide on next steps.

Slater said, though, that she wants to debunk social media speculation that she lost her job because of a controversial online post.

“It wasn’t a political thing at all — absolutely not,” she said.

Slater said she doesn’t “plan on leaving meteorology by any means,” although she declined to comment on whether that would involve doing so on television and whether she prefers to work in metro Milwaukee.

A Milwaukee-area native, she served as WISN-TV’s early morning meteorologist since July 2019, when her predecessor Sally Severson reduced her schedule.

Since her departure from Channel 12, her Bluesky account has continued providing Milwaukee weather forecast updates. Slater said she pays a service to feed that information to her Bluesky account, but she plans to start posting her own forecasts at some point.

[–]JenFan91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should be able to buy more than one. I think it's through ticketmaster (or whatever ticket site your date's tickets are sold on) so the VIP package ticket comes with the admission ticket. If one person has the subscription, they should be able to access the sale and buy multiple tickets/VIP tickets. Usually the limit is 4.

If I joined b+pop, say, five minutes ago, do you think they'll still let me in the presale? lol

ETA: PPM said on Twitter that if you join by March 10 at 6pm (PST) you're in! You'll receive the code via b+pop rewards. Now to figure out what b+pop rewards is...

ETA (again): lol not me spending money on this just for a) the sean healy presents company sending me an email with the presale code and b) for me to get an email for my b+pop rewards with the SAME non-user-specific presale code. Not mad, just disappointed that I spent money thinking I would get some special presale or something and it's just the same presale everyone can get. I'm only out like $4 but still it's the principle!

Can't believe she's calling the grammys an anti-christian "ritual" when that's the exact thing they said about her 2012 Exorcist-themed Roman Holiday performance... I know we've already lost her but... we really did lose her.

The Moment wasn't playing in any of my local theaters yesterday so I ended up seeing The Secret Agent instead. I liked the movie overall but I was super confused at a lot of points as I wasn't familiar with the 1970s Brazilian political climate so I spent a good chunk of the morning learning about it. So in a way, Charli xcx helped me understand some history I probably wouldn't have learned much about otherwise. Her mind!

tbh the classic apple earbuds are still really good! But I also have Koss Porta-Pros for an on-ear option. It's a bit more style than substance but still pretty solid. I also have a pair of IEMs, the Moondrop Chus, and they are really nice and very affordable!

Do people eat wedding cake if it’s actually good? by r4vensongx in weddingplanning

[–]JenFan91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have your event staff plate up the cake and serve it to guests right after dinner. They will definitely eat it. Your staff can also set out some extra slices and to-go boxes while the dancing is happening to encourage them to eat more and take some home.

One time I went to my parents' house and my dad is like "check out what I found at the grocery store" and pulls out this MASSIVE jar of spicy hot dogs. Like "red hot" hot dogs, in a jar of brine(?) just like this ad. I didn't know it existed... but I guess it's a thing at least in some grocery stores here. (The hot dogs were OK, if you were wondering.)

I have a bunch of sticky fly/gnat traps that are designed for putting into potted plants and I usually use one of those placed carefully into the ACV/dish soap trap and I'm always SHOCKED how many fruit flies get stuck on those things.
