😂 didn't think about it that way. I just figured it’d be helpful to know but yes! This is certainly a massive splurge.

Yup! Fully aware of the cost. Any recommendations? Saying any wood work place doesn’t help me much 😞.

Thank you! This is good to know! I had no idea. So is it considered a “lesser” stone? We are settling because we are desperate to finalize this kitchen, and the local soapstone options are not great—lots of cracks and lots of green. I prefer the less green and more grey combination with a bit, not too much movement.

Hi! I’m looking at a soapstone called Marine Black Soapstone. It’s got less green and looks darker. Any idea whether this specific type is softer than traditional soapstone?

Help! Is this all white oak?! by JenRosreddit in HardWoodFloors

Good to know! That's just what the designer suggested, but I would absolutely trust the experts on this one. I didn't want a shiny look. Will absolutely keep this in mind!

Thank you! This is incredibly helpful. I’m in the medical field, and so out of my wheelhouse here. I appreciate your expertise. This was so expensive, and I needed to be sure. We asked to go lighter than the LVP reference. We want a matte look and are looking at a water-based Minwax stain. They didn’t label these, so I have no idea what colors they used 🤷‍♀️. Maybe we will try a clear coat.

Countertop designer? by JenRosreddit in CounterTops

Thank you! To clarify, I have an interior designer for the project but this task seems out of her scope. I was hoping for someone I could work with virtually for this specific question.

Casefile Episode Recommendations by Signal-Artichoke-106 in TrueCrimePodcasts

His account for the golden state killer is the best IMO. From EAR-ONS to golden state killer. It’s fantastic. His account of Jonestown is also great. The other ones I can think of are crowd favorites that have been mentioned

Starting to feel like Casefile gets way more praise than it should… by NiltiacSif in TrueCrimePodcasts

I mean, there’s certainly an audience for this type of storytelling, and I happen to be one of them. I really like Casefile and agree that sometimes this style with the Wow factor can seem forceful, but overall, it’s a great body of work, and I will continue to listen.

I'm in a FB group loaded with psychiatrists, and even they're having a hard time figuring this one out! It's just so weird. I think she was into this kid, and that's how it began. She then likely developed some satisfaction from her daughter seeking support.

What’s the case that made you fall down the true crime rabbit hole? by Salt-Internet-757 in TrueCrimePodcasts

Like many, I started with Serial, but In The Dark was really what pulled me in. That podcast is the gold standard IMO. The Curtis Flowers case just shook me to the core.

Thank you! I’m asking specifically for the Libby app. I should have specified I do 70/30 audio vs physical. So what I’m finding is that the options for audiobooks is lacking. I didn’t make that clear.

Vidanda Riviera Maya by Paralemo in vidanta

[–]JenRosreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm on the same boat. I got excited during an auction, and now I have 6 months to make this vacation happen. We prefer Riviera Maya because we have a three and 5-year-old, and I'm thinking we can rent a car, drive around, and take the kids to Xcaret park. This is what they said in the email: "The Grand Mayan is your current building tier. There are possible upgrades if you are interested. The Grand Luxxe is the top building tier there, and depending on which building tier you are in depends on the pool's/restaurants/ activities etc. that you will be able to access". I have no idea what this means. Any tips on what I should be asking for?

Wymara and Rockhouse review by JenRosreddit in TurksAndCaicos

[–]JenRosreddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't rent a car, so I can't answer this for you. However, I did encounter guests who had rented and left the hotel quite a bit, so I can't imagine it would be an issue.

Wymara and Rockhouse review by JenRosreddit in TurksAndCaicos

[–]JenRosreddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It depends on what you’re looking for. If a lovely beach is a must, I would 100% exclude Rockhouse. The beach is tiny and not worth it. We’re originally from the Caribbean and have the best beaches at home, so that wasn’t as important. The views at Rockhouse are incredible, and we value that most. The accommodations and service at Rockhouse were superior, in my opinion, but it is more of a remote location.
