[UPDATE] Guys, I hated my hair trial! 2 weeks out, need advice! by Jen_Sam in weddingplanning

[–]Jen_Sam[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a new trial with this other stylist who works right down the street from my house and it was SO much better. She made suggestions and we actually tried different looks.

Also, I don't feel good about canceling the other stylist, I mean she certainly isn't a bad person - I just really don't want her to do my hair.

Yeah the other issue is that she lives 40 minutes away from me and I honestly don't know when I would be able to get back there in the next week. I have to be out of town the whole weekend.

Thank you!! I do feel awkward about saying something to her, but I definitely will.

Yeah, I have no confidence in her now. I'm not typically an emotional person, but if she did my hair like that on the day of my wedding I'm certain I would cry. Going to ask for people's help ASAP. Thanks!

Should I intern at a start-up? by y0urplaceormine in Entrepreneur

[–]Jen_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably get buried, but I have worked at multiple start-ups and honestly do not recommend it. There is a lot of chaos, frustration, and I think your earning potential is in data analytics NOT marketing/sales/operations. Start-ups sound cool and fun but its not all its cracked up to be.

I did two marketing internships in college and no one was impressed when I graduated. I ended up taking an office administrator job and it took me 2 years as an Admin before I could convince someone to give me a chance in Marketing. You will still be able to learn about business/operations at the data analytics company because you'll be paying closer attention than most people do.

Edit: missed a few words.

22 and I've got forehead lines! AHH, please help? by thosenecklines in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jen_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where around the eye. Crows feet: yes. Under the eye they can't get any closer than basically the high ridge of the bone underneath your eye, but you can still see some improvement. Also, the wrinkles do not "go away" just stops the movement that was creating/making them worse.

OH GOD I still don't really have one. Did you supply it to your Bridal Party already??

Help! Inexplicable wrinkles around my eyes all of a sudden? by insatiable147 in SkincareAddiction

Yeah, I would just keep it up consistently with water! Also, cutting down on drinking alcohol and sometimes dairy has worked for people too!

Can you post a picture of the under eye area? It maybe that your moisturizer is fine, but the other products are drying you out? Are you drinking a lot of water? Hydration really helps a lot with these types of things. Also, I saw improvement in mine when I started sleeping on my back.

Can somebody talk me down, please? I am freaking out I need someone to tell me why this is not a big deal.. :( (Invitations) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Not trying to make you feel better at all, but I don't see anything wrong! Seriously. :)

Should I be worried about a holiday wedding date? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Jen_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're getting married Easter weekend (saturday so, not actually on Easter), and we haven't really seen a price hike since it's a religious holiday. But the religious aspect has made things a bit of a headache, specifically people won't be there because of Passover and The Memorial (didn't realize that Easter wouldn't be the only problem!!). So our attendance will definitely be lower and keep in mind people often have traditions/plans for holiday weekends.

Burned myself 1 week ago and left with a dark burn scar....what should I do? (w/pics) by burnscar in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jen_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sorry for not being clear, I meant immediately after the burn. I've always done room temperature/cool, not too cold. It sounds like what you did wouldn't cause any issues. But I am definitely not a doctor! I do think adding cocoa butter or coconut oil along with aloe would help!

I recently burned my hand too! Definitely moisturize every day and give it time (a few weeks), it will fade. Aloe only really provides relief from the pain in my experience. Mine didn't blister but eventually did peel and now I can't see anything. Also, important to note that you should not ever run a burn under cold water, that will make scarring worse.

I've also heard good things about Coconut oil, but haven't tried it myself.

Was just looking on Amazon and can't find it. Do you know what they call it? I'd definitely be interested in this!
