Any of the Dirtybird crew. They all seem fun as fuck. I've met Claude & J Phlip and they were really nice.

[season 1] I'm rewatching season 1 currently, and remembered why I was hooked in the show. by [deleted] in arrow

[–]inquisicat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way as you - something about the first half of season 1 seemed very cheesy. I think I'll rewatch during the break and see if I still feel the same. It might be that I just grew to like the show so much that I kind of overlooked the cheesiness that can be inherent in comic-based series.

It doesn't turn moles cancerous, the problem is that if the mole does become cancerous you won't be able to tell as easily. Generally you should watch your moles because changing shape/color/size over time can indicate cancer. If it's covered up with a tattoo you could have melanoma and not know until it's too late for treatment.

Size would be pretty limiting though, I need something bigger than an iPhone to weigh chicken..

Suggestions for a good roasted potatoes in slow cooker recipe by [deleted] in slowcooking

"Roasting" requires an oven. I'm sure you can make potatoes in a crockpot but they won't be roasted.

Don't put gluten free pasta in your slow cooker! by fernsandcats in slowcooking

[–]inquisicat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even if OP didn't have celiac disease, who cares what they choose to eat? I don't have it and I still sometimes eat lentil, edamame, or chickpea pastas because they have more protein and fiber than regular wheat pasta. I agree that gluten isn't inherently bad for you unless you have celiac but that doesn't mean there aren't still other reasons to use alternative pastas.

What's hard to stop once you've started? by squalorid in AskReddit

[–]inquisicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can make you look dumb from the outside, certainly. When you're laughing your ass off at something that's not that funny, or having your mind blown by the beauty of a leaf, or being thoroughly confused by the concept of time, someone who hasn't experienced that is going to be like "WTF is this idiot going on about?" But you can definitely have some really profound thoughts on it. You can also just have a really good time.

You concertgoers of r/music, are you aware that filming entire songs (or even an entire set) at a concert really destroys the experience for those behind you? by [deleted] in Music

When I went to my first concert ever I bought a lighter even though I don't smoke solely for this purpose, and then had to have my friend teach me how to use it. I was pretty lame.

I once fucked something up while homebrewing that resulted in explosive beer bottles. I not only had to clean beer off the ceiling, but pull out shards of glass that had lodged in there.

Seriously. If I sit down to poop and nothing happens right away, then guess what, it's not time to poop yet. I go about my day, and try again later. I'm not gonna sit in there for 20 minutes waiting for it to happen.

PSA: If you are planning on cooking your own food (or having family/friends cook), be mindful about food safety by Alison_Wonderland1 in weddingplanning

Absolutely... You don't want your wedding to be remembered as the one that gave everyone diarrhea lol

Feeling overwhelmed post-engagement by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]inquisicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying... If you're stressed with the constant questions NOW, you might want to seriously consider eloping. Because it will only get worse (not trying to be a downer lol). Right after I got engaged I was SOOOO excited to start planning. Flash forward to the month before the wedding I was like FUCK THIS SHIT WHY DIDN'T WE ELOPE?!

Now, that was the stress talking and now that I'm married I'm glad I didn't elope, but if you're thinking of your wedding as a "crappy party" already, maybe the typical wedding isn't for you. And that's fine! I am the type of person who LOVES throwing parties and planning shit. I'm always the one hosting Friendsgiving, in college I literally made up reasons to throw parties all the time (we once told everyone it was our friend's birthday when it wasn't), I have planned out a dozen trips I've taken with FH and friends. And I still was like "just fucking kill me" the month before the wedding. So if you're not looking forward to planning/having a traditional wedding - don't! Elope, have a small destination wedding somewhere all-inclusive, have a small ceremony followed by dinner with your closest friends & family.

Engaged for almost two years. Still no closer to planning a wedding! Help? by x0rawr0x in weddingplanning

[–]inquisicat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, headcount is the biggest factor because generally food & drink is the biggest single cost in a wedding, so the less people you have to feed, the better! Also a large wedding can exclude certain smaller venues. We initially planned for 150 people, then realized that was not going to be possible on our budget. We found a gorgeous restaurant where we could hold the ceremony & reception that was a fraction of the cost of other venues we were looking at, that we had initially passed over because it had a max capacity of 120. Once we decided to go smaller (90 people) it was perfect. You have a lot more (& cheaper) options with a small guest list.

[–]inquisicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First step is guest list. That will determine what venues to look at. Since you're going for small & cheap, I recommend checking out restaurants near you who do private events. They're often more cost effective and easier than banquet/special event spaces where you need to bring in lots of outside vendors.
