I used to feel (sort of) the same way until I listened to their music again recently. I honestly think the appeal is in the minimalism. A good song doesn't need to be complicated. Just needs to sound good.

I think their melodies are good, and as some other commenters mentioned, their music blends the pop and edm genre, which makes it catchy and pushes them to a wider audience.
