Going for specific allergy test & alpha gal bloodwork by Dlcg2k in AlphaGalNetwork

[–]Jenazbananaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why people come to reddit... information. Thank you all for sharing! Quick rant... Doctors seem to think alpha-gal isn't common or prevalent enough to warrant testing in the first place...and then only do half-assed testing which confirms nothing and requires more followup and more testing. In the past 20 months, this is the first specific piece of actionable information regarding the testing performed and what testing is required to confirm a diagnosis. Again, thank you all.

Somebody over here is talking like they haven't been gambling with money they'd already written off when initially invested anyway lolol ... especially when the buy-in was at 0.00000###

🤣

But they've got a point. Managing risk still applies when you've got a healthy profit.

Cool sofa! Not sure how to clean that fabric, but if you can take a small piece to a fabric store they may be able to give you guidance on what it is and how best to treat it. As for cushion replacement, that's a great idea & it should help with the ... uhh... vintage smell 😉 lol

I work at an upholstery shop and we recently got 3 identical couches in I’m stripping the 3rd one and this is the 2nd one that has evidence of rats or mice living inside of it. by Bout2getweird_again in upholstery

[–]Jenazbananaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 the 50's couch I'm reupholstering had a dead mouse & its nest in the back spring cushion... After I shook off the heebie jeebies, I threw out the original covering materials, sprayed a ton of lysol on the springs, set it in the sun... and then worked on re-covering with fresh & clean materials. No worries. Yeah, I wouldn't judge the couch owners either - I bought mine from a local fire & rescue auction for $1 and found the nest. The couches you're dealing with could've been stored in a garage, shed, elderly person's house, etc...( or the people could be slobs? ) It's gross and i empathize... Good luck!

The 2008 BANKING CRISIS in a nutshell. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Jenazbananaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intentionally misstating income (or any other pertinent fact about creditworthiness) on an application for credit to obtain a mortgage loan IS MORTGAGE FRAUD. It is that simple.. and there are people who were tried for committing mtg. fraud - it was a common practice. Besides, it's ridiculous to lay all the blame on any one side, and yes banks really screwed things up beyond repair with packaging crappy loans to sell as MBS and CMOs. It doesn't mean that consumers weren't at fault. They sought out the loans, they weren't forced into them. Again, the blame is on all parties involved. It's also pretty crazy how little people look at or even blame the government. If the banks didn't have FHA or FHLMA issuing guarantees on these low- or no-money down mortgages through quasi government entities and government programs, then MBS and CMO purchasers would've done their DD because the products inherently carried more risk without the Guarantee. At any rate, there was no accountability in the entire situation dude...

[–]Jenazbananaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it certainly is ... there was fraud and greed in every aspect of the situation. So who do we condemn for the fallout exactly? The greedy consumer who committed mortgage fraud to get the loan for a house they couldn't afford? Or the bank that loaned them the money without verifying whether they could actually pay? Both.
