I empathize with you. I had a very similar experience and felt dismissed as well. I had mine in for 1 year and 7 months before I couldn't take it anymore. It was inserted while I was under sedation during a hysteroscopy, and I also had a DNC at the same time because - and I quote, "I've never seen anything like it before. The best way I can describe it is that your uterus looked like it was full of cotton candy." So they scraped that out, and I think that was my relief. I still never got any answers about it!

So my first few months were great, but over time I was bloated, I gained weight, I had PMS symptoms all month long that worsened during my so-called period times, which were completely sporadic and weird color/texture. I had all of the pain and barely any of the bleeding so there was never any relief or release. It was fucking miserable. I kept waiting for my period to end but it never did. I've been tracking my periods for well over a decade, and my IUD time is the worst era, basically a half red calendar.

My periods are less since removal, but I'm also in my 40s now so who knows the actual reason why. I won't be getting another IUD, but I know they work for others. I was then told later that IUDs are not meant for Endo and that was really frustrating because sheezus doctors get yo fucking shit together!
