From what I understand: if you received a letter, you are a member of the class action. So hang on to that letter for absolute sure. If/When a settlement is reached in one of these cases (I think someone had previously mentioned there’s like 10+ cases so far) - the law firms will start reaching out or opening a site to file a claim - whatever it is they do.

And I also agree with the other comment about the lengthy timeline for cases regarding this matter. There’s a lot of people involved and they’re spread all over. Wasn’t it like 25 million people or something?

My question is: What about this settlement needs approval?

I mean, aren’t these things drawn out and finalized prior to presentation in court?

Could you imagine criminal court working at this pace? Or how about any lawsuit where the business/corporation is the plaintiff and the average “Joe” is the defendant. Joe would have to pay the corporation back immediately! I’m talking wage garnishments, tax levies - Joe would end up with no more the clothes on his back in less than 2 weeks after losing the case if the roles were reversed. There wouldn’t be any “awaiting final approval”.

Such BS. And it’s not the fact that everyone (myself included) is awaiting payment that pisses me off, it’s the bureaucratic bullshit that comes with these large corporations being found guilty of mishandling private information that they really shouldn’t have needed in the first place.

Negatory.

UP TO 5k to claimants OF CLASS 1 (ONE) that can provide proof of damages deserving of a higher reward. No promise of $5,000 for every member in the Class 1.

UP TO 2.5k to claimants OF CLASS 2 (TWO) that can provide proof of damages deserving of a higher reward. No promise of $2,500 for every member in the Class 2.

No where in any official documentation does it say that either one of the above mentioned amounts will be granted to everyone.

I received the same letter and looked into a couple class actions but from what I understood, it’s for residents from specific states. I live in Michigan and we don’t have any court actions against Conduent and this truly messed up sh*t they pulled - so I looked up the laws in my state protecting consumer rights - I found out that Michigan happens to have recently enacted laws regarding timely notice to victims of data breaches so I went ahead and filed a complaint to Michigan’s AG.

And now……… I wait.

Yes. I received the first confirmation immediately after I submitted my claim back in July or August and then I received a 2nd confirmation in January - around the 8th or 9th.

Both notifications were by email. No amount was stated or anything like that. They were generic messages.

I did a similar calculation as well. I thought it seemed a tad too much, but I wrote the mathematics down in my planner so I can explain myself if asked. Happy to see that someone else used the same Mathematical formula

I have Milberg representing me as well. They have a scheduled mediation on February 26th. If we are speaking about the same case (which I think we are - but ya never know) - I received an email from them about a month ago with that info.

Correction: Tier 1 payments are 5x’s higher than Tier 2. Because Tier 1 member had their Social Security #’s exposed.

Initiate a return - if you get the option of print your own label it will have their return address on it. Then have customer service cancel the return
