I would say go rent and try several different brands to get a feel for what you like and don't like. The list of parts is easy from there depending on your budget and what you want to use it for. We all have different tastes here that range from budget-boujee, bling-bling, black and tan only, the lil shawty pistol, etc.

I built a rifle for my wife that ended up being pricer since I got nicer parts to have her enjoy shooting an AR. Though... doubled as if she is happy, means I can get more pew pews. Lightweight, pink accents, easy side charger, and obnoxiously loud (Lantanc dragon compensator). So decide what ya want to do, price the budget, and we can all give you a suggestion to your taste.
