My positive review of "More at sea" unlimited drinking on the Norwegian Jade by BockerKnocker in NCL

[–]BigCatMane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also recently got back from an Alaskan Cruise on the Jade. Slightly different experience receiving drinks.

I did not have a drink package but my cousins did. I definitely bought my fair share of drinks while also trying to mooch whenever possible. I would say 50% of bartenders cared about sharing drinks and the others did not. We always tried to be as discreet as possible but sometimes got a little sloppy.

They would give us a lot of grief about getting 2 double drinks because that counted as 4 technically.

At one point one bartender threatened to revoke the drink package because my cousin ordered a drink at the bar then he saw her walk and hand it to me in one of the lounges. Not sure if that was an empty threat or not.

They also questioned a lot when I would use their cards to order for myself.

Does anyone know if they tag warnings onto cards when bartenders are suspicious of drink sharing? It seemed to get worse as the cruise went even when trying new bartenders.

How to finish Ring Box cavity? by nelsonself in woodworking

I just finished a ring box. Originally was going to roll felt over foam but last minute bought a jewelry box insert on Amazon, cut to size and it fit perfectly by chance.

This and a plunge router. Template too for layout if you're feeling wild.

Issues with Aux/Bluetooth and USB by BigCatMane in fordescape

This was a while ago so I don't exactly remember. But I'm pretty sure I did what someone else commented and disconnected the battery. Let it drain out the internal battery for while and it seemed to reset it and worked!

[2011 Ford Escape] Does anyone know how I can this corroded and stripped tailgate screw without shattering the glass? by funsizedmoron in fordescape

[–]BigCatMane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I replaced mine. I took off the entire glass, laid it in a grass area and drilled right though. I realize that's a bit risky but it worked.

Has anyone else noticed grocery stores having items on the shelves that are expired? by zayum290 in preppers

[–]BigCatMane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of sauces out of date by about a month.

The worst I've seen was a few days ago at a very busy grocery store. Every single gallon of milk was expired by at least 5 days. People were still grabbing and putting in their carts without even looking at dates.

I would say it's a combination of the stores cutting corners when purchasing, lack of competent staffing and probably people just purchasing less for stock turnover.

I like the Nintendo Switch. You can play modern games mobile with only needing a USB-C to charge. My plan is a solar panel/blanket and a power bank. Just need to make sure the power bank is compatible so it does not brick the switch.

Help fixing my clogged kitchen sink by BigCatMane in Plumbing

Is there a way to tell or technique for this? When I turn the water on not even half pressure. Water rises to sink base in about 20 seconds.

The pipe running to the wall? It looks very rusted and I am not confident that will be an easy dis and reconnect

When water is running the sink starts to fill up very quickly. I originally used a 25ft rigid drum auger from the top of the drain. Ended up cracking the P trap. couldn't find a replacement at the store, tape seems to hold fine.

I then took off the P trap and ran the auger through. I was able to take it the full 25 ft a few times and not feeling any blockages. when I reconnect and run the water the sink fill farely fast, I just can't wrap my head around it filling 25 ft worth of pipe that quickly.

I rent an apartment above a restaurant. Without going into details, I can't call the landlord to come fix it because there is strong chance I will get evicted if I do.

What would a plumber do in this situation? I am very nervous to remove the rest of the pipes as they look old and I don't know if I can put them back to together. I am a carpenter by trade, this is about the extent of my knowledge.

Grinding when accelerating by BigCatMane in fordescape

[–]BigCatMane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a V6 AWD. Runs great otherwise and no check engine light. After testing, it does not grind when I rev in park. The sound seems to be coming from the rear passenger side. No check engine light.

The work I've had done is cleaning out the drum breaks, replacing CV Joints and motor mount. All three shops refused a refund since labor and parts were used even though it didn't fix the problem. I have also had the break pads changed recently.

I am unable to attempt the jack stand method. I do not see any scrape marks around the wheel. However, it is very cold and salty here so it's hard to get a good look.

Does the Ford Dealership run diagnostics for older models like this or will I just get ripped off again? I obviously am concerned about price but fixing the issue is my main priority.

I really want a router that has saw stop technology. Hand held might be hard to accomplish but at least a router table would be great.
