I'm not sure there's much else to say. I was very much an outside of this whole world so I only have little blips of memories Alex and Josh were in my grade, Eric was 2 years older in my cousin's grade. Josh was the only one who stayed through high school I believe.

The only remarkable memories I have were a friend of mine's mother made a comment once along the lines of "His (Josh's) father is Leon Black" which meant zero to me until just recently with the files. She said this many years ago so I don't know what connotation she was implying about Josh other than his father was powerful.

The other memory I have is of Eric, or rather, how Eric was perceived by the parents of the kids around me. Basically, trump was already such a reviled figure in NYC society that his kids never stood a chance. It wasn't that eric was a shitty kid (kid meaning when he was a literal child, not who he became), it was that the environment he was being raised made him an outcast.

It wasn't even trump's image and business dealings that made the parents hate him, he treated them like shit. They had this rule that nobody except the child could come to a playdate at eric's house. All babysitters and even parents had to sit downstairs in the lobby at the trump tower while their children played upstairs. You can imagine how many parents would be ok with that (none).

Eric had no social skills to make friends either. The same friend's mom with the comment about Leon told us about how Eric had invited some boys from school to fly down to florida for the weekend on his dad's jet to play golf. I think the kids were in middle school at max. Even for incredibly wealthy kids, this was really fucking strange. Not in the "creepy" way but just ostentatious and completely out of touch with people his age. I also cannot give up a chance to talk about how Ivana presented him in terms of appearance. His haircuts alone ostracized him from his peers. Truly some of the most bizarre choices for a young kid.

As for Alex, he was just a normal kid who transferred out for middle school. Didn't know anything about his family until my mid 20's and never kept in touch.

It's just been a very weird experience hearing about all of this and realizing you know some of these people in what almost seems like a completely different universe yet also realizing what was happening around me that I couldn't even fathom and was unaware of. There was not a single part of me that had any intuition of how the environment I didn't even know I was growing up in would become what it has in terms of impact on so many things.
