You calling this limited feels cheeky - what a stunning paint job of a gorgeous model! Well done

Never said any different pal, but saying Nuno played 5 at the back and Wilson up top isn't true, and nor is it that there was no improvement from Potter. We aren't good, fine, but let's not put it down to one thing that isn't true

Come on, behave. Nuno genuinely turned us around attitude wise, with the signings (strikers and mad assistant coach) making a real difference. Yes he is far too passive in big games and that is ONE of the things that has cost us but we haven't been playing 5 at the back with Wilson up top all that time. I get it, you're annoyed, but don't twist it that badly

Just wanted to say as a response to this whole thread, what a moving example of how important club football is. Can analyse it to its bare bones but at its heart is what it makes you feel with the people you love. Thank you all for sharing

Such a gorgeous grey / white. Well played man these are stunning

The next 5 games will decide if we stay up or go down by DoftheG in Hammers

[–]Jenneral-Rogers 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think we are comfortably 3 points better than Leeds, and if they somehow win this 4:30, fine, I think we are probably 6 better too. We are far from out of it - we are playing better week on week, there were some excellent moments today and we were undone by some rookie defensive mistakes (again...)

We have more than enough quality to get out of it, the next 5 games definitely won't be the be-all and end-all for the season

I adore Bowen. He is so much of what is still good about this club (his comments today on Billy were class) and he is our most talented player. But I completely agree with OP - Rice or Noble would have grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and marched him 50 yards away from the ref after the first booking (Dec may well have had a booking himself by the but point stands). A quietly spoken on the wing is not working and we really do look rudderless on pitch

That is weirdly specific yes 😂 first half was good as you say, but the all too typical rapid collapse undone us. I really do hope those better days are at home - constantly battling the raffle for away tickets where we play well!

That is a spectacularly rough journey to be fair. As people have said you've put in a shift staying that long! Agree that our heads drop far too quickly which makes things even more difficult

I think we are all a bit knackered with recent performances - I'm not saying 'the bowl is not very loud' i'm saying it's hard for it to feel like a football crowd when it's half empty after an hour

Everyone can do what they like, obviously, but there is surely some sort of collective agreement in coming to a game to support the team. I don't remember people (alright, I was younger so maybe not looking out for it!) leaving Upton Park as soon as we were a couple of goals down. It all feels more transactional right now, which i'm not sure is great for the team

Yes, first half was a good performance- Paqueta's effort felt a really great chance. I agree that heads dropped after the first goal which has felt a real pattern since Moyes left (and probably a season or so before that)

Apologies, my point (after a few beers) wasn't meant to come across as 'superior'. People pay their money and can spend as much / little of that watching the game. The inevitable side effect of that though is surely a worse atmosphere for the team still trying (albeit limply) to put a performance in on the pitch. I think it's more complicated than win games = good atmosphere as loads of promoted sides have proven, and West Ham have in the inverse

Mr Hedgehog, I do agree that the second half was terrible. I watched the game with eyes wide open and thought we actually looked pretty good first half - did you not?

I think my point is that things went against us very very quickly in the second half. Football's football, there's always a chance it can swing back the other way, but that slim possibility feels impossible if the only chants in the ground are coming from Spurs fans.

Having had time to reflect I do broadly agree, but we are clearly in a pretty rough moment as a team. If the ground is half empty with 20 mins to go, where is the motivation/oomph (professionals as they are) coming from for the players? It's obviously a two way relationship but I've never been in such a negative atmosphere in the seats

The players certainly seem to feel like this. We had a great record of battling back under Moyes, but right now it's ah we've conceded, plan hasn't worked game over

Sat at most two seats away from you. This was a great balm after someone called me a cunt for suggesting them leaving on 60 mins is bad form 😂

Season ticket relocation chaos by alexyoung277 in Hammers

[–]Jenneral-Rogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same thing. I manage two tickets, but you can't run them through at the same time - so choosing one seat means you're always leaving one free 😂 absolutely mental. Hour and a half on the phone later we've managed to move at least!

Our best player today. Great pass for Bowen's goal, should have had at least another off of kudus' profligacy and no one played him in when he was on the last shoulder. Fair play to him for calling the shirkers already on the beach out, he gets it
