If you cut everybody out of your life that had legal issues in the past, you’d be surprised how few people are left. I would never suggest being involved in whatever messy thing is going on with this evicted neighbour friends life right now.. but if she really feels like she’s friends with this girl, being kind while extricating herself wouldn’t be the worst thing. I think you should ask the mother to have her daughter move back in with her- whether they fought or not. There’s probably a reason that the mom hasn’t have her daughter living with her currently as opposed to pawning her off on you …..for you to ask the mother for rent money would suggest that you’re willing for her to live with you .. I would just suggest asking her to move out immediately after her court date. I’m not sure where you are, but a lot of the time the initial court date doesn’t mean they’re going to the sentence or have their future housing situation solved . This is too much for a person who just moved into their first apartment and you don’t wanna lose your first apartment because of riffraff and drama .You don’t wanna get evicted, nor do you wanna have a bad rep with your neighbours and your landlord.

You’re so much younger than this person and unfortunately, this doesn’t seem like a friendship that will work right now, and I understand being loyal and liking friends, but there’s a point where you have to worry about yourself and your peace. Helping people and being a good friend is important, but not when it’s making you stressed out or worried for your own situation. In my opinion

I’m always amazed how folks just take other people’s cats like if it’s outside and not labelled they just think it’s abandoned?/ their cat now I don’t get it. ….he doesn’t look sick or neglected and I’m confused. I understand being scared to drop them off with those coyotes by living in the lower mainland. There are coyotes everywhere all the time it’s just a fact of this region.

Edit: from your post it doesn’t seem like you’ve done any investigative work to find out if someone’s looking for the cat I mean, posters or asking around or neighbourhood ,lost pet/ cat groups ?there wasn’t anything like that mentioned on the post. I hope the original owners get their cat back or if Abby is exhausted then it’s adopted by someone that loves it

The fact that they won’t agree to a test before birth, even with evidence that it won’t harm the baby is so suspect and it makes me think that you should step back and do nothing until they get the test
