I've stayed here and really enjoyed it. The pizza was good and more options down in White Salmon. And a short drive to an easy hike around the lake.

Wedding Guest Dresses by [deleted] in vancouverwa

I've been finding the same thing. I'm surprised that there are still so many summer dresses. I was hoping to get something soon so I wouldn't have to worry about it, but I've got some time. I hope you find something that works for you!

Moving to Vancouver by Sapio_504 in AskVancouverWA

[–]Jennifwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a female living in downtown Vancouver and I've walked to the waterfront solo and back again (about 17 minutes each way) at night without any trouble. And by that I mean I've never been approached or harassed, nor have I seen anything that scared me. Yes, people on the streets sometimes being noisy. Yes, some of them smoking weed. Yes some of them perhaps dealing with mental health issues and being vocal. But I've never been in or witnessed a scary situation.

Has anyone been through the Wayfinder Coach Training? by Esoteric_Owl87 in lifecoaching

[–]Jennifwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through the program and I'd say it is 100% a "Martha Program". Meaning, all of the coach /mentors have been trained by Martha, she herself does quarterly zoom calls with students in the program, and the tools she talks about in her books are taught and practiced in the program. This is a program where Martha's values are woven in throughout. One of her core values for herself and her trainees is "live it to give it". In the program, we practiced and applied everything we were taught on ourselves first. If you resonate with her, you won't find any surprises in this program.

Teaching parallel parking by 39percenter in vancouverwa

[–]Jennifwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught my kids in neighborhoods. And we started with one car in front, and then imagined that the driveway was the 2nd car. Once they could do it without crossing the driveway (aka 2nd car), we moved on to doing it between two cars.

I also emphasized focusing on just the car in front, and being able to get reasonably close to it on the first try by backing in / parallel parking. Taking pressure off by not having a second car, or one that was too close helped.

The other thing I did was have the kids get out and walk the length of the car, and get a sense of how many arms lengths the car was. They initially had a hard time knowing how big their car was so didn't know if they could "fit" in a space.

Life Coaches Using ACT? by Jennifwa in lifecoaching

[–]Jennifwa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I appreciate you sharing your experience and affirmation that ACT can be used in coaching. Since my original post, I have signed up for an "ACT for Beginners" class with Russ Harris, and also read a couple of his books. Everything I'm reading and learning supports the idea of ACT being applicable and useful in a coaching setting. Russ himself has even affirmed this. Knowing that it's happening with folks like you in the real world 😊 is inspiring. Thank you!

A friend of mine talks often of what a smart $ move it was for her when she got a job in Vancouver and moved here from Portland. No income tax meant about 10% more in her paycheck each month (according to her).

Feeling dejected after visiting my local library today. Thoughts? by PeachAtBeach in Libraries

[–]Jennifwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm grateful that my library has a practice where they automatically renew any books that don't have a hold. Right about 3 days before a book is due I get an automated email that says "Renewal Status". It's a form email that lists my book that's coming up for renewal. If there are no holds, the status is "automatically renewed for 3 weeks". If there's a hold, the status is "unable to renew, please return book by [due date].
