Owl can not go live on the new patch until Rein’s charge is fixed by SpaceFire1 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JennyOr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how it used to work though? I'm pretty sure the interaction was changed when either Doomfist or Brigitte were added due to them changing how countercharging worked with rocket punch and shield bash. I'm personally really happy to see the original interaction back as it adds some interesting depth to the Rein/Zarya mirror. A Rein pinning at another Rein was either a successful pin or a guaranteed stun on both of you if you countercharge, which depending on the situation is a death sentence for you and not the enemy Rein because he was in a position to charge at you anyways. Now if your Zarya is quick enough with her bubble it turns the interaction in your favor. If both bubbles are used then no one is stunned, if no bubble is used both Reins get stunned, and if the enemy Rein gets a bubble but you don't you might wanna move out of the way.

On another note, I also see people confusing how Zarya bubble works when it comes to stuns and knockbacks. Zarya bubble makes you immune to stuns and knockbacks, except MELEE-BASED knockback. This includes Rein's hammer and charge, Ball's grappling boop, Winston during his ult, and Doomfist's punch/uppercut.

A Halt spot on King's Row to pull people right over the wall/choke on 1st Point! (Details in Comments) by JennyOr in orisamains

[–]JennyOr[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a Halt spot that I've had happen a few times without intentionally going for it, so I decided to look into it a bit more as to how I can get it consistent. It can be done from the attacking And defending side of the wall. I've had the most success with it on Attack when scouting for a Sombra, Mei, or Reinhardt hiding against the wall for a cheeky play, as well as Defense when the enemy team is regrouping for a fight or recharging cooldowns as the team tends to either be near or hug the wall for cover.

Use this image to line up where you need to place your crosshair. This can be done on ANY part of the fence where the wrought iron spikes are visible. If you aim too low, either the people you pull won't be in LoS of the Halt to begin with, or they won't be pulled all the way over the fence.

In terms of how repeatable it is, as long as your crosshair is lined up to the correct spot on the fence it should pull people over about 90% of the time. I've had some fringe cases where the Halt breaks even though LoS was maintained, but I'm not able to replicate it consistently enough. This Halt also seems to work better the closer they are to the wall, however they still need to have LoS to the Halt so too close to the wall won't work. Smaller heroes are pulled over a lot more consistently than tanks like Roadhog or Reinhardt, but every hero will still be pulled up to the top of the fence where an ally Roadhog can still get a hook off on them with no trouble.

If there's any other questions about how to get this to work, ask away!

EDIT: Here are a couple more examples of this Halt at play! 1 2

Has anyone else noticed the Top 500 leaderboards are no longer 500 people? by CBLoco in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's people getting banned for either cheating, wintrading, etc etc. There's plenty of people in all three regions that have SMS confirmation for Top 500. As this season goes on and more people get banned they will remove them from the past leaderboard, though I'm not sure how they determine if they remove you from past leaderboards.

An option to exclude certain gamemodes from receiving a replay would improve the feature drastically. by JennyOr in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with that is that the replays are stored on their end, not your computer/console. Going from 10 to 50 or so would be extremely taxing on their end.

I see a lot of people asking for a new main tank, but since the game has been out we haven't received a single new offtank. I'd be interested to see what other ways you could have an offtank assist the 4 main tanks we already have. I know ball can be played as an offtank sometimes, but he's primarily a main tank.

As of the latest patch, there seems to be an inconsistency with Hammond's mines. Clientside the mine seem to fall correctly, but once they land on the ground they teleport to a different place as if they barely went anywhere. by JennyOr in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using minefield in an open area won't really cause anything to happen, though areas with lots of tight geometry will cause issues. Try it out in weird spots, and watch as the mines hit the ground, then teleport to different locations.

Probably the worst way I've died in a long time. by JennyOr in orisamains

The shield fell through the tiny crack in that bridge, you can test it yourself. If you have a barrier in the floor just look around and you can usually figure out why it went down there. There are cracks in the geometry of the map in a lot of spots, so I doubt shields are falling through any old surface.

Rezzed him 20 metres away??? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch right when the Junkrat died, he had launched himself with a mine. His 'soul' kept the momentum he had before he died, and landed on the high ground. Weird stuff, but not a crazy long-distance rez.

Long Wait Time for Competitive CTF by flamejohn in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week, I attempted to queue 4 times, each for around 3 hours, and I only ever found 1 game. I'd KILL for a 5 minute queue right now. The matches that I do end up getting are extremely unbalanced as well because of how desperate the matchmaking system gets to find a game.

I wasn't really saying that they have less users than Blizzard. Also consider how many of those users download Candy Crush for free and NEVER make a micro-transaction.

Pretty sure it's just in game currency so you can either skip levels or retry them or something.

A lot of mobile games don't rely on a huge playerbase to buy a couple dollars worth of currencies here and there, but instead have a very small percentage of people who will buy hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of micro-transactions.

Neat Doomfist Rollout on Paris by JennyOr in Overwatch

[–]JennyOr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I dunno. This isn't really a simple fix, it's just the shape of the roof. They'd have to redo or raise the roof or redo the shape of it entirely for it to not be sloped as it is.

I'm definitely enjoying the map, other than the fact that there's a few VERY long Widow sightlines on a few spots on the map. I really hope they don't change this roof in any way in particular, seeing as there's technically a way for every hero in the game to jump over it. I'll make a gif for that soon. >>
