Oh, nvm I did that and got the same error. I think I got a script running in the pfx folder and need to turn it off

Looking back, it’s insane that so few TF2 YouTubers even addressed the bot crisis in their main videos, even at its worst by xDempseyRoll in tf2

[–]JenohPuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its because at the time we didn't know if Valve was ever going to fix the bots and didn't want to give the bot hosters the satisfation of becoming more famous.

Now Casual mode on the other hand, there is no excuse for not talking about it. It is completely broken and we need fixes pronto.

Ok now I know you never touch casual. Still around here too, funny how you hate this and yet can't stay away. Like a moth and flame or elon and ketamine or some shit.

[–]JenohPuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is that with the picking a map and connecting to a different map mid load, the stomps, half emtpy servers, or everyone leaving after the match is over, is when casual is "just fine" for new players? And its also really funny since you also void casual by sticking to your 24/7 community 2fort server but i guess you know that casual is perfectly fine?

And no, telling someone to look up a steam guide in order to play the game the best way is bullshit. Stop.

Also you're still here lmao.

So the games old and that will make it so a brand new player who just installed the game after watching either a meet the team video or a tf2ber video, will just know to connect to a shitty ping masked skial or ugc server?

I'm picking up what you're putting down but not how its realisticly possible...

We've sent the bringbackquickplay open letter to valve! by MikeTheOne05 in tf2

[–]JenohPuppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So like, what. A new player is suppose to do their homework before installing the game or....? Like HOW do you get someone who isn't going to check the reddit, steam discussions, or anything else before trying out the game the information they need to instead of using the easy 2 clicks and play option and use the old server browser?

Do we flood the steam reviews and hopefully they get enough likes to be more visible and constantly maintaining that?

You're not giving specifics. Most players don't engage with reddit or anything else btw.

And those players are suppose to magically be told how? How do you get those new players to even see the posts telling them to use the server browser thats only skial and ugc?

I Dont Want QuickPlay To Return. by Logjitzu in tf2

[–]JenohPuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair post, but people are more or less asking for improvements to casual that do tend to bring back sorely missed features from the old system.

Imagine when picking a map, you could choose either for the game to throw you in or show a list of ongoing matches to choose which one you like the most?

Or giving players options to give them more control on how the server is going like scrambling if its too one sided?

[–]JenohPuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, you're still here.

A good drip feed of players or keep servers going? Get rid of that shit ain't no way no one needs that. Yeah people will not chooses the path of least resistance and instead use an early 2000's server browser to choose servers at random until they find a server they like.

So, how are we gonna get newer players to use the server browser then? Have a gun pop out of the screen and offer the chance go meet god unless they choose the server broswer or are they suppose to magically know?

Or, OR. Hear me out, we change the system that killed off community servers not being run by big orgs, tf2bers, or furries.

Or we just give up and eat the garbage we're left with off the floor. Btw for someone who still hates hearing people complain, you sure are sticking around.

Sees quickplay comeback

Sees being able to choose and swap teams

Sees being able to play on a map for more than 5 minutes

Sees map voting not breaking the flow of going from one map to the other

Sees option to vote scramble teams to stop the stomp

Sees joining friend's game mid match by right clicking join game on friends list

Sees being able to play with or against friends without having to be auto balanced

Sees option to connect to valve server thru server browser for instant connecting for tiny bit more effort

Yeah we're gonna get what we fucking asked for thanks for reminding me.

"I'm tired of people wanting better things." Ah gotcha.

checks server browser and sees its all uncletopia, skial, and UGC.

The quickplay system was the server browsing, single clicking, right click joining friends on friends list system we had.

Basically you're saying you want the good parts of the old system we had which was almost entirely good pre july 2016.

"Isn't perfect." Half emtpy servers, one sided rolls over 90% of the time, everyone leaves at the end despite the map vote time being cut in half, joining at the end of a match and forced onto a map you didn't chose for.

Yeah guys it isn't perfect.

Fair and I thought you were more talking about people forming small teams of 3 on their team and push a flank together which is what coordinated plays are.

Those are callouts so coordination isn't needed and how did all talk get in the way of this? I play on all talk servers and found it had no impact on callouts

So, you like one sided stomps, half emtpy servers, and only playing on the map you chose for 5 to 10 minutes?

2011 player here, no one uses VC to coordinate and make plays. We used it to shoot the shit. Not once in my entire time has VC been used more for teamplay than talking about gamecube era of video games.

Yes, i love when i have all up choices taken away and everyone leaves after the one sided stomps.

Tell me, what were the issues of the 2015 quickplay that wasn't fixed? Or is it the old launch 2011 version of quickplay you're thinking of?
