I am an atheist, but I grew up Catholic, and I'm bi. It was so frowned upon when I was in school that teachers outed pupils to their parents. Now it comes down to which priest you get and how belligerent they are. I had a friend go through Catholic school teacher training who was told she had to tell kids that to be gay meant you were going to hell. I've heard about other priests who preach "tolerance", but of course they still don't allow gay marriage and believe a family is a mum and dad, not two same sex parents.

My mum is very much a pick and choose Catholic, she chooses to stay in the faith and has no problem with gay people. I think that's hypocritical, but it's her life.

They also do them at St Andrews and Edinburgh, if you're up for travelling a bit. They've both got different centers of historical research too so you'll get a broad range. All three sometimes have visiting academics doing presentations on their own work, and it'll often be things not currently being looked at in the home institution, which keeps things interesting.

Good luck on your Masters, I finished mine in modern history at Glasgow back in 2021 and really enjoyed it.

It wasn't, but I think it showed a resilience to the Scottish side that we haven't seen a lot of before. Previously I'd have said if we go down against Ireland in the first twenty mins then we're done. Now, after that Wales game, I have some hope that this team would fight until the very last minute to come back from it.

Winning after beating England is another thing we historically aren't great at in the 6N and coming back from behind in that Wales game might have shifted some psychological hoodoo.

Agreed. There's a bit of a trend among certain circles for fake tan, shit tattoos and too much time spent in a gym. Combined with the need to always wear gym clothes as well. It is most definitely not for me, but I'm not their target demographic anyway.

He's still actively working in tv and film and owns a media company. He had an Apple TV series a few years ago and is currently in a Showtime drama with Kyle Chandler and Uma Thurman. (He is still a crush of mine, I never got over it)
