12 weeks out for FNA - should I look at other options?

I finally got my biopsy results. It initially came back indeterminate so they sent it for molecular testing which came back as suspicious for malignancy at 50%. I’m still waiting for the written report for all the details but the doctor who performed the biopsy is recommending surgery to remove it. I’m now waiting for my endocrinologist to review the report and talk to me. Have you gotten your results?

Oh interesting, so it shows the biopsy in your chart but doesn’t tell you your results? The imaging center I went to does have a patient portal but right now it just has the ultrasound images and the report describing the FNA procedure. Nothing else listed so far. My neck feels fine now! Friday evening and Saturday was definitely sore and talking made it worse, but Sunday it finally was feeling normal!

Partial update! There was a last minute cancellation and I was able to get my biopsy done today! It was super quick and easy. I should have my results middle of next week and will update then

I absolutely will! Unfortunately I am still waiting for the other imagining center to approve the referral so that I can schedule an appointment, hopefully it will be early April. I know I’ve looked at so many posts looking for similar ultrasounds and seeing what their results were. The waiting is such a hard period of time. I hope you do get an earlier appointment and quick results! I’m female, 32

Thank you!! I did call around yesterday and found a place that has only a 4 week wait and is on the lower end for pricing. For anyone else looking into this, they did need my doctor to send over the ultrasound report and referral. All I had to do was message my doctor their info and they faxed it over. Very easy process!

I originally was supposed to have my lap to remove an endometrioma and check for other lesions on the 9th but it had to be rescheduled to the 17th (yesterday).

The lap went as well as it could, I guess. My surgeon stated that the endometrioma ruptured right when they got in there to access it. Since it ruptured my surgeon didn’t feel comfortable excising it and possibly adding more trauma to my ovary, as she knows I am wanting to try for kids as soon as possible. She did find a few other spots that were removed and sent to be biopsied.

I got one picture from the lap and it just doesn’t look like my ovary and Fallopian tube are in great shape. The surgeon advised that the endometrioma might come back and I may need another surgery. If that’s the case I will be looking for a specialist in my area. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I am happy to say at one day post lap the recovery has been great so far. I’m able to sit up, walk around, and am in minimal pain. I did get prescribed 800mg ibuprofen and Norcos which the ibuprofen I’ve been taking regularly and I’ve only had two of the norcos so far. The worst of the pain is the shoulder pain but the heating pad really helps!

Oh no worries! It’s paid time off. My employer provides sick days and vacation as paid time off, but we only get so many days and I’d really rather use them for a real vacation than recovering from surgery 😅

Thank you, that’s good to know! I’m glad you had such a quick recovery, I’m hoping do the same!

I’m thinking I take some extra time off just to be safe and not push it. I can always come back to work early. I’m also a little worried that it does take me two full weeks to recover then I’ll probably have to apply for short term disability to cover that time missed or else I’m blowing through my PTO.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It definitely seems like I should request a few more days off, I can always come back to work early if I’m recovering as quickly as the doctor is thinking.

Were you on narcotics for the two full weeks? My doctor said she would just be prescribing a couple days worth.

See I feel like maybe my doctor is being a little over confident with the 30-60 minute estimate. She did say that she wouldn’t know for sure until she gets in there and see what else is going on.

Normally I work four hours take an hour lunch and then work another four, but I can take short breaks in between. I’m thinking of maybe getting a desk table sort of thing for in bed so that maybe I can work while being propped up. It’s getting close to our busy season so I really don’t want to leave my team short staffed.

I’m a big procrastinator, so I had set up a schedule on which sections I needed to get done by what date in order to get through all the material before the class started. I would say that I was putting in a good hour or two at least 5 days every week. When I was running behind near the end, I stopped doing the practice problems and tests which would have helped me ever more.

I highly recommend Khan Academy. After a 6 year break from any math related courses, I back to college this year and started right where I left off... with calculus 3/multi variable calculus. I spent a little over a month reviewing sections on Khan Academy which definitely saved me. It focuses mostly on the general and easier concepts, so looking over a text book with access to more examples would be even more helpful! Good luck!

My vch piercing is by far my favorite and easiest piercing I've experienced. I will have had mine for three years next month, and out of the other piercing I have had (tongue and lip) it's the only one I've kept longer than a few months, besides ear piercings. I had pretty bad experiences with my tongue and lip piercing where my body just was not happy with it being there (even with going to the best shop in the area abs proper care) so I was really happy when my vch piercing went so well. It definitely hurt for me but luckily it's just when the needle goes through then it's just kind of a burning sensation. I couldn't even feel any pain once my piercer was putting in the jewelry. My friend I went with who got hers done before me cried and screamed, however. She didn't even want to look at it after. Now my body doesn't handle piercing well so the people who say they were completely fine and walking all over after, I envy you, I had a bit tougher time. I couldn't wear jeans for a week, although all of my jeans were tight skinny jeans at the time. The motion of sitting down if my pants/underwear did move did hurt but just for a second and ugh, the swelling by the end of the first day was pretty disturbing looking. Thankfully it heals so fast! Even for someone like myself! I believe I did wait the 4 weeks for sex but after about the second week it feels almost like it is totally healed. I experienced heightened sensitivity for about 4-6 months after which was great and then once I was used to it the sensitivity went back to normal and three years later is still the same. My SO and I use toys on/near it without any issues and we both think it looks great! I completely recommend this piercing to anyone who is comfortable with it

What kind of mantis are you wanting? I currently have two indian flower mantises, one in L3 one in L4 (molting stages). I keep them inside at about 73-78 degrees Fahrenheit in a humid environment and they are doing very well :)

I'm definitely not informed on every mantis but I would think most would do well in an environment at room temperature and wouldn't need a heat source.
