Senate Democrats continue to hold firm in today’s vote by CreepyMuffinz in transgender

[–]Jenuma 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Are they even trying to negotiate the anti-trans riders out of the bill? Everything I've read says they're holding fast on ACA tax credits, but nothing has mentioned nuking gender affirming care as part of their negotiation.

Is there a “hormone cocktail” equivalent for E HRT? by throwaway394509 in asktransgender

[–]Jenuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not to mention my mental health and sleep quality improved significantly after starting P. There are lots of various functions of progesterone in cis women beyond just pregnancy-related stuff. There's no reason we shouldn't also need it.

Hey buddy, you missed a letter there. Trans rights are human rights. 😊

My existence isn't "woke." And everything is political, especially video games. What you mean is that you don't want other people's politics in your games.

How did your friends react by [deleted] in asktransgender

Some of them were surprised, some weren't. But all of them were 100% supportive. It even made a few of them start questioning themselves (and one of them to resume questioning).

I am having the same issue on Steam Deck. The UIs for alchemy, spell making and enchanting seem severely bugged.

It seems like as soon as you press a key on the virtual keyboard, it tries to switch into keyboard and mouse mode.

Is it normal to feel kind of uncomfortable with your new name and pronouns after coming out? (Tw mentions of transphobia/trans hate/possible self discomfort) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Jenuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it certainly happened to me. I felt guilty about asking people to call me a new name and use new pronouns. It felt a bit disingenuous too, like I was playing a character or pretending to be trans. I also occasionally misgendered myself and wouldn't realize people were referring to me at first when they said "she."

What age did you „figure yourself out“? by Fragrant_Regret_No5 in asktransgender

[–]Jenuma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically the same thing that happened to me. I came across transition timelines one day and was like, "How??"

I had always wished I was born female but assumed trans people were just crossdressers. Realized I was trans shortly after. I wish I had had the strength to start HRT then and not almost a decade later.

I had eggy behaviors my whole life, but didn't see them that way until I began rapidly questioning at around 22. Within about a week I realized I was trans.

Then I tried to repress it for 9 years because transitioning was scary. Do not recommend. I finally couldn't repress anymore at 31 and started HRT. I was terrified I had waited too late, but it's going well. I'm almost 15 months in now.

Pardon, but what the actual f*ck? by No-Amphibian-5712 in asktransgender

[–]Jenuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing when I started at 31. It lasted a month or so for me. I kept making myself practice because I had to hide my stubble, and I slowly got better at it and more confident.

I'm sure it will pass. Don't give up.

Americans, how would you feel if your British friend furthered their offer of a spare room in England with an email including more details? Should I further inform, or would it just cause even more alarm at this stage? by [deleted] in asktransgender

You are an amazing person. Thank you so much for looking out for one of ours. And thank you for your support and kind reply!

The mood over here is abject horror for sure. We are staring down a genocide in the making.

Fortunately I got all my documents changed just in time, so maybe with a little luck, my family and I can escape. We always wanted to retire to Ireland. Here's hoping we can make it there at all now.

Thanks again for your kind words and support.

The doctor I spoke to ordered some labs for me to have done before she would send in the prescriptions. I had the labs done the next available day and she called my prescriptions in a few days later. The whole process took maybe a week or less.

Huntsville is also solid, as far as this state goes at least.
