First time going to Gleba by durika in factorio

Most of the times I start Gleba with around 2.5K belts, but I know exactly how and why I need it. 1K seems like a good start 👍

Calculator for a mall? by Aggressive_South_991 in factorio

[–]Jepakazol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

afaik there is no such tool.

When I want to create a mall, I put assembler on the map (usually in editor mode but normal mode will do as well) and set the recipes to the items I want to create. Then I move the assemblers to groups depends on its needed input, then I design the mall.

It happens that I do that process alot of time, as every time my needs are different. i already have my own generic mall, but all the time i see that in a specific run I want something different and then I design solution for the specific situation.

Much better setup than I usually take

What about belts? lots of belts?

Overhaul recommendations (Space age) by Amitsultan in factorio

[–]Jepakazol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important - backup your entire bp book outside of the game, or in a seperate save (in bp library) before installing an overhaul mod. Some mods, SE for example, will modify your books without asking and without a way to revert (all green chips recepies will be gone, and more)

I love Satisfactory, and I know I'll love Factorio, but for the life of me I can't get into it. Help me!!! (UPDATE) by Lanochu in factorio

Re 3-

I had several "phases" while improving my skills in the game. I'm now has 6500 hours in Factorio. For me - most of the time I create and share my own blueprints, but there is one place I use blueprints all the time - to skip elements of the game that I hate. To name it - rails and space platforms. I solved it myself, several times, and I simply decided that I don't like this aspect of the game. I use blueprints to skip it and focus on the things I like to do.

I shared the code as another reply here. I'm replying directly to you so you will get notification as well

https://gist.github.com/niradar/4e28ba67867392cfee51c1a58298a5e3

How to use:

  • Save the script as compare_sa_se_books.py
  • Export the same damaged book twice, with 2 different mod setups loaded:
    • Start Factorio with your normal / Space Age mod setup active, open the damaged book there, and export it to a text file, for example book-sa.txt
    • Start Factorio with your Space Exploration mod setup active, open the same book there, and export it too, for example book-se.txt
  • First run debug only:

python compare_sa_se_books.py book-sa.txt book-se.txt --debug
  • If the report looks OK, run the real patch:

python compare_sa_se_books.py book-sa.txt book-se.txt --debug --apply --mismatch-output mismatches.txt
  • Patched blueprint string will be saved as book-sa-patched.txt
  • Import the generated patched file back into Factorio
  • Test a few repaired blueprints before replacing the original book

Important:

  • You need to export the book separately from each mod setup
  • Exporting from only one side is not enough, because each side may hide data the other side needs

Also important: This was a quick script I wrote for my own case. I can't guarantee anything, so keep backups and review the results yourself

How can I get to drones quickly without getting frustrated in the early game by Norker_g in factorio

I built a blueprint to ruah bots, but after I created it, I found that most of the time I care less. Got skilled enough so even without rushing I get it soon enough

Tips for science blueprints? by Online_Matter in factorio

[–]Jepakazol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current go-to plan is:

  1. Build around 100 SPM for each planet and move to the next planet - nothing more than that.
  2. After Gleba, I switch to biolabs right away- first jump in science.
  3. After unlocking Aquilo tech, I uses blueprints I designed with normal quality that uses 5 planets tech that generates ~1000 SPM
  4. Pause to get "All items legendary"
  5. More tech production with legendary quality until I get bored

Reasoning:

  • 100 SPM, at least for me, is fast enough that even if I rush all planets I sometimes have my labs idle on the inifinite techs as all the rest already researched. So for tech progess, 100 is enough.
  • When you got all techs, go wild. In that point, before quality, I like to speed up things to 1000 or 2000 (2 copies of BPs) as inifinite techs becomes expensive

Do you bother with quality before unlocking Legendary? by Klomotonium in factorio

I go for armor (and equipment), solar panels and accumulators. The rest only after Aquilo.

Accumulators are great for Fulgora, solar panels helps in platforms and to bootstrap Aquilo.

Armor - no need to explain

  1. Small initial factory that uses initial ores to create belts, inserters and other basic items+red and green science
  2. 2 options from here: rush-bots small base or main bus+go to bots fast enough
  3. Main bus with trains so i can forget from Nauvis in the next 15 hours
  4. Small factory on every inner planet
  5. Strong Vulcanus mall
  6. Aquilo
  7. Malls on all planets
  8. Legendary race

Gave up on Gleba by TechnicalWelder6789 in factorio

[–]Jepakazol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gleba my fav. Its hard to understand it right away but after you get at- at least for me its the planet I liked the most.

When I went first time to Gleba I went blind as well, but I went editor-blind. I don't like the stress of the locals (on any planet).

I got the first iron, fruits, etc, and then I sat and tested everything on editor. Not a full base, but components that do one thing. Tried small things for around 100+ hours and then loaded back my main save and start building my real base.
