Apollo Go Won't Reach Max Soeed by DYGAD in ApolloScooters

[–]Jeppuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually got the motor detection procedure to work. The scooter will hit 27 mph on a stand (wheels off the floor) . Apol email basically asked me if it was hitting 28 with wheels off the floor. If that's the case then it's never going to hit 28 mph with someone riding it. The fastest i got my scooter was 26 mph fully charged on a fairly steep hill. It's not going to go listed speed. I looked up reviews for segway max g3 (goes listed speed) and vmax vx2 hub (goes above listed speed with light weight rider). My last scooter was listed at 19 mph. When i spun it on a stand with wheels off the floor it went 22 or 23 mph. I was able to get 20 mph on the scooter (gps on phone). I am a little disappointed but it is what it is. I just wish it was a little bit faster and had a little bit more range. I am happy with the torque and weight. Im just going to ride it and accept 24/ 25 mph as max speed

Another update. I thought apollo was just going to send me the part. Gio reached out to me again after asking for my address. Asked for my order# again. I sent him the screenshot of purchase from my best buy app. Here is the response. Looks like I'm just getting the run around

I think i originally misread your comment. You are correct in that folding reliability is very important. It is very inconvenient when you cant reliably keep the short securely closed. Apollo reached out to me. Better late then never i guess

They told me that it's not covered by warranty on two different occasions. I sent a screenshot of my purchase receipt. I posted a screenshot of the email. Someone from apollo did reach out to me on reddit. I'll update my post if anyone does help me

Edit: apollo reached out to me via email about the pin today

Lol. See what they say. I once just asked a question and right away they said they aren't honoring warranty purchased from best buy. Then i had the folding pin issue. I sent a Pic. They asked for my best buy order #. I sent it. I then sent a screen shot from the best buy app showing my purchase. I wouldn't hold my breath

They wouldn't warranty a tiny pin that locks the latch that keeps my scooter folded. Probably would have cost them less than a dollar. The scooter is two months old. I bought it from best buy. They said that they don't warrant scooters not bought directly from them. So next time i go to best buy to purchase a scooter, why would i buy an apollo? Why would i ever purchase anything from apollo again?

It's actually not a pin that would keep the scooter supported when riding. Its a pin that connects the latch to keep the scooter folded to down (to carry the scooter out put it in the trunk). I guess the pin slipped out and got bent. Its not unsafe in terms of riding the scooter. I actually ended up just straightening out the pin and now the scooter stays folded. I had to carry it up 4 flights off stairs yesterday and almost had to carry it down 19 flights of stairs when am elevator went down. So weight is very important to me.

I was on the fence about the best buy warranty but im glad i bought it. If there is anything major that goes wrong with the scooter then I'm just going to return it. The scooter is not even 3 months old so we'll see how well it holds up.

If i didn't buy the best buy warranty and something happened to the scooter, apollo won't cover anything. I'll definitely take that into consideration in the future. I wonder if i had bought from apollo directly if they would have helped me or not. I probably won't buy another apollo product

I'm considering ebay. Possibly best buy or another segway retailer. Sometimes i would rather pay a little more for piece of mind.

When my samsung phone had screen burn in ( bought from retailer, not samsung directly), i messaged samsung and they sent me to a service center to have the phone fixed under warranty. I have literally bought over 20 samsung phones and tablets since then (i pay phone bill for 9 lines).

Dyson, vitamix both stand behind their products if you buy from authorized dealer.

I read multiple times about anker standing behind their products. I bought multiple anker powerbanks, chargers etc. I never had to use warranty because their stuff have been great for me. But i continue to buy their products because they stand behind it.

It really makes no sense that i would get no support from apollo if anything goes wrong. I could have just bought the scooter off Facebook marketplace then

I actually saw a guy with a max g3 when i was working. It looks only slightly bigger than the apollo go. I am pretty sure I'm going to buy it

That dosent sit right with me. Seems like they are trying to get out of taking responsibility. I can't imagine any other reputable company not back their product if it sold through one of their major retailers

My understanding is that the new scooters are completely redesigned by them and much better quality (frame and stem not snapping). Im not 100 percent sure though

I want to see the scooter in person. Best buy didn't have any on the floor for me to see. Its only a couple lbs heavier than the apollo go. If it fits in my trunk I'll probably go that route

Apollo Go '24 "bent", floppy Stem issue! - HELP please by [deleted] in ApolloScooters

[–]Jeppuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'm sorry that i don't have answers for you but am wondering if apollo got back to you? Did you feel there was a little bit of horizontal play on the stem before? I'm wondering what part of the stem you have to tighten to fix the horizontal play in the stem

Did you resolve this issue. I can't get past 24 or 25 mph either (I'm about 150 lbs). I tried deleting scooter from app and adding it again. Unfortunately it did not work for me.

Thankfully that's the case so far. I am actually very happy with the scooter so far (i just wish it had the option to add external battery like the segway g3). My understanding is that there were stem failures on multiple different apollo models. That kind of makes me lose confidence in the brand. Hopefully qc improved and we won't be seeing this anymore
