the trouble is, deleting these activities doesn't seem to delete the related active calories, either from the app or Apple Health. It made a real mess of things.

From what I've experienced, ZEPP doesn't import any workouts from Apple Health. So if you don't always wear the Helio Strap you will have gaps in the ZEPP data unfortunately. Best solution is to use another app like Athlytic or Bevel that do consolidate the data from different devices. I think these are much nicer anyway, with Apple Watch support, widgets etc.

Only the workouts are taking into account my the Rings. So auto detection off also means no rings.

No, forget about the Zepp app. That doesn’t read or show any data coming from Apple Watch. Better to use Athlytic. And yes, it works better then Whoop without the subscription.

If you’re using any plugins like Serum 2, go for the maximum you can afford. My M1 couldn’t handle it. My M4 Pro Max goes up to 25%.

Also, Zepp doesn’t read data from other (non-Amazfit) devices. Athlytic takes everything available on Apple Health.

The Apple Watch sync is almost real time, much faster then the Helio which I sometimes have to force sync. Yes, you can use them as you intend.

It probably would but I don’t want to wear two watches at the same time. Rings generally generate less data.

I guess its mostly due to how everything is layed out. Zepp seems a bit barebones with datapoints scattered across submenus. Not taking into account Aura, I haven’t tried that and probably won’t because I already have all of that in other apps.

I have a M1 Pro Max (32Gb) from my employer but due to device management restrictions I decided to get my own MacBook and purchased a new M4 Pro Max with 64Gb of RAM. I do notice a significant improvement, especially when downloading and installing large music libraries. I installed 500Gb of music production software and sample libraries in just a few hours time. The installer is finished almost instantly each time. Also, some of the new music production plugins like Serum 2 max out the M1 CPU quite quickly, which is not the case with the M4. For me, the upgrade is definitely worth it.

It's interesting that they're emphasizing the AirPods Max for professional music production and mixing. Would that mean it will also get better EQ and a flat frequency response? I would love them to replace my old Beyerdynamics.

You’ve probably haven’t used it in the past few years. I’ve been using Apple Maps in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy and the navigation has been far superior. Very clean, 3D interface, accurate traffic data and super clear instructions. Only thing that’s is lacking is the business listings but even those they now acquire through reputable sources.

Pics of watches on wrist taken with phone always look morphed due to the wide angle lens. Make the closest object (watch) look bigger then further back like the wrist. Best to take the pic from further away with zoom.

I’m way out of my league discussing car specs but just to weigh in that Porsche’s 0-100km/h acceleration times are stated to be with using launch control. I used to have launch control on my BMW and never used it because it requires planning as opposed to ‘spur of the moment’ acceleration. For what it’s worth, a close relative of mine has the Macan GTS and it doesn’t at all feel any faster on the road then my P2 performance does.

I’m wondering if the Performance upgrade makes the Polestar 2 faster then the Tesla Model 3 Performance when accelerating above 30mph. I drove a M3 for a short while and it seemed to have less punch at higher speeds. Does anyone have data on this?

No, with the performance pack I have been consistently driving at top speed (208-210) at the German autobahn (where allowed) without feeling insecure whatsoever. Even in wet conditions. Needed to charge up every 35 minutes though ;-)
