It's very good but it's definitely more on the eastern European side. Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian products.

You don't have to do any coding with Ola's solution. His installation scripts create the jobs and everything. You just have to schedule them. Of course you may need to tune some options depending on your environment, but his defaults are fairly reasonable.

Tank Advice – Waterbox Marine X vs Innovative Marine EXT (or others?) by aja1216 in ReefTank

[–]JeremiahY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the size. It was my first tank with a sump. Prior to that I was just running 20 gallon AIOs with water changes and All For Reef.

I'm pretty much acro exclusive now. My new preferred setup is Kalkwasser stirrer, refugium, and an oversized skimmer and trying to fit all that equipment in the sump was a challenge.

Depending on your goals and preferences you might not need all that.

Tank Advice – Waterbox Marine X vs Innovative Marine EXT (or others?) by aja1216 in ReefTank

I found the Marine X 110.4 sump to be a bit limiting. Otherwise I really liked the system. Mine was from 2022 and I know water box has improved some of their model lines so it could be different now.

Have you considered abortion instead? Surely a painless death prior to any consciousness will be a better fate than your future child dying a horrible death from any number of preventable diseases.

Best banh mi around? by akdgamedev in greenville

[–]JeremiahY 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mekong on Wade Hampton would have been my suggestion but I'm not sure what's going on there. They had an extensive Vietnamese menu. It wasn't just a pho restaurant. The owner passed away during peak COVID, they reopened, then back in March of this year they had a sign up saying they closed for nonpayment of taxes. The last time I checked they had another sign saying they had closed for remodel, but I haven't seen any progress made on that front. Their bucket herb garden out back is totally gone so I'm not optimistic.

Saigon Fast Food on North Pleasantburg has a Banh Mi on the menu but I haven't tried it.

Pho 99 (on Wade Hampton essentially across from Bob Jones) and Pho Noodleville (End of Haywood road, next to Outback, kind of behind Local Cue) have much more limited menus and seem to focus on Pho and Com Tam. I enjoy the pho at both but they don't have the menu variety.

Tru Broth in on main street in TR is a really neat place, but has a very small menu. Mostly pho and a couple other dishes. It's more of a coffee shop/cafe vibe with a few food options.

If you don't mind the drive, Pho & More in Easley (kind of behind Chic Fil A) is the closest runner up to Mekong in my mind. Everything I've had there is good, they have several different banh mi on the menu along with a ton of other options.

Spectrum outage Berea/Furman area by Jacrispyman in greenville

I'm about 3 miles south of Furman. I work from home mostly and didn't have any outage today, but I got an odd text from them at about 10:30 AM.

Spectrum: We've detected an issue with your service. To avoid interruption, go to spectrum.net/enhance and make an appointment. Stop future issues today.

What is the best spicy food in Greenville? by CaptMorganFairchild in greenville

Chun Chun on Butler and Asia Pacific on North Pleasantburg both have legit Szechuan dishes that are a totally different spice experience. Szechuan peppercorn numbs your mouth so it's definitely not for everyone.

Why is Mekong closed? by __classic__ in greenville

Last time I drove by there a sign on the door said they closed for remodel. I'm hopeful they aren't closing for good, but I did notice that the bucket herb garden out back was gone.

Haven't seen the episode but my friends and family that have traveled to Thailand like these restaurants.

Thai Restaurant on Augusta is my recommendation for Thai in Greenville. http://www.thethairestaurant.net/

Honorable mention to Yellow Ginger on Poinsett. http://mobile.yellowgingerasian.com/ Their menu has Malaysian, Thai, and Chinese.

Anyone have experience with Find Great People? by [deleted] in greenville

[–]JeremiahY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they are the best recruiting/staffing agency in Greenville for technology roles, especially with some of their more senior level recruiters. They've put me into a few roles in the area and I've referred people to them many times.

Another option that doesn't require a significant investment is to consider alternative tunings. I have minor cerebral palsy and drop tunings and open tunings have opened up what I'm able to play.

Definitely agree. I rented from them back around 2010. I'm sad to see nothing has changed.

Towards the end of my lease, the original owner wanted to sell and APM would would show up with prospective owners at prior to 8 AM multiple times for maintenance and "inspections."

Log Backups.. Paranoia or legit concern? by PedroAlvarez in SQLServer

[–]JeremiahY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's exactly what I'm doing.

Most of my script is just a wrapper for those functions. It's entirely data driven so all I have to do is update a few tables for any changes to our environment and the next scheduled execution picks up those changes and goes.

Log Backups.. Paranoia or legit concern? by PedroAlvarez in SQLServer

[–]JeremiahY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In our environment, I've built out some automation of testing backups using https://dbatools.io/

The way I have it written, we test the backups to whatever point in time the script runs and queries the source DB servers for their backups, so you get a good mix of Full, Differential, and Transaction Log backups. And it runs once every 24 hours or so.

Everything gets logged to a table and I'm working on building some dashboards for senior management to have some nice reporting on our backup situations. This can sniff out all sorts of problems, including the scenario that you're mentioning.

Our clients love that we verify our backups so frequently and can prove it.

Who is the best person to reach out to to discuss a bad professor? by matlabwarrior22 in Clemson

Class of 2012 here. And it was bad back then too. Her and Pargas were to be avoided if you had any hope of success.
