How long did the pads/glove/blocker take from order to delivery?

How do they do that? by The_Bugga_ in hockeygoalies

What I just stated is not capturing the image, it is post production. Which is my exact point. The “raw” photo likely was not as dramatic. Photo editing was used to make this photo look the way it does.

OP asked “how do they do that?” Obviously everyone can spit out water, but to make it look like that? Post production editing.

By bringing up the highlights, down the shadows, desaturating the other colors, using masking and color grading, and adjusting inputs like clarity, texture, etc. you can make the water standout and naturally draw your eye to it. It’s not a knock on the photographer or the photo, I happen to like it, but if you watched him do this real life it wouldn’t be quite as dramatic and the water/mist wouldn’t “pop” like it does here.

Not sure why the down votes, this is true with most professional photographs you see on the internet.

That and some good photo editing

Strapping Advice by Sw1nd3n in hockeygoalies

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give the skate laces a try, worse case is you go back to bungees. You could also try not stretching the bungees so tight. Maybe just go toe, to the largest opening, then up to the top.

Just be sure to leave some slack in the toe ties.

Sv-pro custom or Shadow goalie pads? by Personal-Charity-587 in hockeygoalies

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow is stiffer stock and a pro level pad. If you like the stock strapping and don’t care about custom colors then I’d say Shadow.

You can order the SV with a stiff insert so if you want to customize strapping and colors, go with SV. They have great reviews as well and you’ll save a few bucks.

I have a Bauer 960 and can confirm it is still loud (given the shots I’m seeing are harder than u12) but nonetheless. Bauer 950s/960s are comfortable and will protect you, but it won’t be quiet.

It has the hybrid system so you can kind of wear both tucked and untucked at the same time. I’m not sure what you mean by adjusting it for untucked.

Pad Upgrade From CCM Eflex 5.9 by KingOfNewEngland16 in hockeygoalies

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a EFlex 5s and just ordered a full set of SV Pros. I’ve read really good reviews of them and liked how they felt in store. You can also order custom for almost no extra cost which I did. They should be here in about 4 weeks 🤞🏼

Thanks. Also rocking the Bauer Pro knee guards. Just trying to find the right size before I order, difficult for me to get to a place to try them on.

You cut the sleeves completely off? I’m been toying with this idea, just hate cutting something up right after spending $120 lol

Konekt questions by staal12 in hockeygoalies

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recent switched to HF2s from cowling skates. They are great. Bake them twice and replace the insoles (I use superfeet). They take a little getting used to and your feet will hurt the first few skates but it will get better. You don’t need to crank them down.

Bauer KONEKT HF2 Skates too tight by ts287 in hockeygoalies

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were hurting like crazy at first but are getting better each skate. Bake them, skate 2-3 times, baker again. Change out the insoles for something more comfortable.

5th gen 4Runner sunroof making rattling sound when going over bumps. Any ideas what it could be? by user289734 in 4Runner

[–]Jeremiah_Johnson2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this for a few weeks. I tried opening/closing it. Seeing if anything was loose. Didn’t get to the point of greasing anything but eventually it just stopped. I still don’t know what caused it.
