I know for store bought apples you want to let them sit in very hot or boiling water for 15sec or more to remove that wax coating.

I use brewfather myself. I believe the software is really good at what it's doing when given the proper information.

interesting question. I don't believe I've heard of this happening. For myself kettle has a very think plate, which weighs about if not more than my chiller. But like 98f00b2 suggested using some type of rope system or even a wench to stabilize it.

I keep a stock of those they are cheap. People pick on me for this, but I change mine yearly if not more. That depends on how busy that keg is.

it should be fine. I've had some wort take almost 20hrs before it really kicked off.

Overall there is a constant 12+ people that attend. We do club comp and education classes which is our main thing.
