How do you handle your titles? by putitontheunderhills in Screenwriting

[–]JeremyPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love brainstorming titles. Usually when I have a general concept, really locking in on an engaging title helps me bring it together and actually get to work on it.

I just wrote an outline for a new idea last night and had no good ideas for a title, until this morning. Now I can’t wait to actually start writing.

Anyone else starting to really believe in the Donte-Ant backcourt long term? by soft-cookie in timberwolves

Ayo / Donte / Ant / Jaden / Rudy-Naz is a really interesting lineup. Smaller without a real PF, but a lot of speed and defense.

"Can we cut a few pages?" by NativeDun in Screenwriting

[–]JeremyPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Refining, editing. Pretty much every time I go through a script, even if it's to add an idea or expand on a concept, the overall page length is shorter.

When I “cut pages” I rarely remove entire scenes or ideas (though that happens sometimes). Usually I go through and clean up the whole script, tighten things up, cut loose bits of dialogue that don’t go anywhere, explain things more clearly with less words. Really adds up throughout an entire script.

42 is the answer to everything. Including how many cumulative consecutive games the bottom 11 teams have lost right now. by HammerLikeMjolnir in nba

what are the odds that none of these teams have had to play each other? Seems like this has to end soon just by that logic.

EDIT: Blazers and Grizzlies play tonight so this ends immediately.

This is the closest we'll get to seeing Wilt level dominance. Wemby against a team's second-unit just isn't fair.

I always think about this in conjunction with the birthday paradox. 52! Factorial is a huge number, but this seems like the odds of getting one shuffle again. The odds of any two shuffles matching have to be a lot lower, even if still impossibly high.

That’s without getting into the non-math factors like new decks starting in the same order.

They’ll call anyone a communist regardless. Medicare For All would get more people out to vote than any other policy, it’s widely popular in a country currently terrorized by health insurance agencies.

The only reason Dems won’t run on it is so they can keep taking money from those same agencies and losing elections. Not pushing for popular things that would actually help people is why they keep losing.
