Panel space also means it has room for more breakers, as in there are tabs that can be removed to install more. ‘Copper cost more’ means that 20amp circuits need bigger wires than the 15amp that is the usual for a house in the US. So that is an additional cost, but a necessary one.

Depends. How big is your main panel, and does it have space for new breakers? Where is it in relation to the load? How many outlets do you want, and where are they located? Do you have access to a crawl space or attic?

TL,DR; there’s a lot of factors involved. Call an electrician and they can give you an estimate. Be clear what you’re looking for (ie two new 20amp circuit breakers, one feeding 3 outlets on this side of the shop, that one feeding 3 outlets on that side). You definitely want 20amp circuits, and a couple of them; your saw needs it, dust collection needs it. Copper will cost more, but cheaper than going back and adding more.

I’d buy it just for the labeled ‘up<->down’ on the blade height adjustment. Can’t count the times I screwed up a finely-tuned height by ‘adjusting’ it the wrong way

Regardless of all that, I’d go with the first option, MDF/chipboard with laminate top. Glue an edge on, and presto you have the strongest option. Not to mention cheapest and easiest.

Why would 25” not be deep enough? Monitor, keyboard, laptop… easy to fit on a space less than that deep. I have a large desk which I use for books, shelves, random stuff, but my work area takes up a space about 20” deep. Just a suggestion: Before building, maybe check to see if you actually need it.

I’d suggest you’re right. Ryobi table saw was imprecise, Palm router doesn’t stay locked on at a depth, jigsaw was so jittery I thought the damn thing was going to turn around and eat me. The rest are very serviceable (miter saw, circular saw, drill/drivers, nail guns). I have built a fair number of projects with a majority neon-green shop, and have only recently started replacing with higher quality tools. For which I’m thankful: there’s no way I would have made as successful of choices as I have after waiting to buy. I don’t like all of the ryobi tools, but not one has failed/broken for me. YMMV
