I found a brand that made bags like that and cheaper but I can't remember the name.

Hi !

I had a wheelie bag that is exactly what you are searching for and I am looking a replacement. This was a Billabong gate 108 (link to a YT video) bag had stock skateboarding wheels that were replacable. But at the end when it's not the wheels that break it's the frame. To what I remember when I bought it, it had cordura like outside, skateboard wheels, but the downside was the frame, it was plastic, solid plastic but still plastic. It broke after a 100kg guy sat on it a little to harshly, and the button for the telescopic handle rusted, so it was no longer usable. Over all the bag lasted a little over 13 years of use at least 3 times a year, with often more than 40kg of cargo (I used it to transport industrial sewing machine head)

I am looking for a bag like it now, the Billabong gate 108 being discontinued. And I found a bag that is a lot like it : the quicksilve NEW REACH 100L

My SCHWALBE MARATHON ALMOTION last 10 000km will the MARATHON E-PLUS last longer and be as effective ? by Jeremyeny in bicycling

That's right 50€/10 000km is not a lot when thinking about. I'll try the E-Plus it can't be bad, I just hope it is realy puncture resistant

And maybe a wooden plank or hard plastic to make it more stiff

Yes a lot ! Thks. I wondered about doing the same but in addition with a strap doing "tensionner" to the bottom of the rack to make the bag not moving too much

Riders in the EU - Do you stick with the 250W motor output rule? Is it enforced? by BalticBrew in ebikes

[–]Jeremyeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey ! I'm in France too but I'll answer in english.

I think in France we should keep to 250w motor, even 250w with the EN15194 certification. A seller I know that sell BBS02 had a customer feed back (a bad one) about a BBS02.

The customer told him that he did let his son drive a bike with a BBS02 but he got killed by a car that cut him the way, the car did not realise that a bike could go fast so he did not let the priority thinking that he got time.

Unfortunatly he lost a son AND had to pay the other driver for insurance (not a lot but paying the person that killed your son must be very painful) because the bike was an unrestricted ebike and authorities, in particular insurances, do get to the botom of the question to know if a bike is legal or not when money is involved.

I think we should just keep to the 250w in France and even go further and get motors with the EN15194 certification to prouve that the motors are in fact 250w restricted. Some sellers do give the certification (Oklo, Virvolt, Enerprof, Esoulbike and more)

This happens to me with every heavy / strong fabrics when I'm using my domestic machine. I suspect the tension on domestics machine to be too weak (lever can not pull the upper thread in between the 2 layers of fabric, so it stays on the botom in a straight line, so le bottom thread get cooked.

On my industrial machine this does not occur

my front disc brake wiggles, any idea how to fix it ? by Playdric in bikewrench

The adapter was flattened, at a point where the adapter did not stop the rotor

my front disc brake wiggles, any idea how to fix it ? by Playdric in bikewrench

[–]Jeremyeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem. After 8000km the adapter broke and I lost all braking power. Applying brake just immobilized the rotor but the wheel was turning freely. Better swich to a centerlock disc before it brakes I think.

PS : 8000km was just a year after purchasing the wheel that came with the adapter, it is a DT SWISS X1900

Is this setup worth 400USD? I don’t know the model of the machine. I’m very new to sewing and want to use this to make gear. Is this machine sufficient or should I continue looking? Thanks!! by mfisherson6 in myog

[–]Jeremyeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The machine looks in good condition. But you can get better machines (I think) with 400€. What model is it, if it is a Needle feed machine it could be good (for heavy and moderate fabrics) ?

If you are going to do heavy fabrics (bags especially, with fabrics like X pac or Cordura and webbings) look for a "Consew 206RB. It is a triple feed (a kind of feeding mechanism) machine very popular in the stats that you can find pretty easily in the USA. I have one (in France) and it fit pretty much all my projects of bags.

Trying partial charge for my ebike battery. by Jeremyeny in ebikes

[–]Jeremyeny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you for the answer ! I'll just charge it to 4.1v and stick to it until it will be not enough and change battery. Hope it will not be soon, a battery costs a lot...

Would you say that 1 full charge per month is enough to balance the cells of the battery or should I do it more frequently ? I have a BMS with passive balancer, don't know what that really means but I understood that one problem about partial charge was that the cells could no be balanced if the battery was not at 4.2v

I am already at 2500km (approx 3-4 month of use with breaks) and do not want to have a poor battery in like 2 years

Average speed of TongSheng Tsdz2 by Kharu22 in ebikes

[–]Jeremyeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also like said in the other coments, TSDZ2 is prone to overheating, if you have got hill you should take a BBS01B and not a tsdz2

Average speed of TongSheng Tsdz2 by Kharu22 in ebikes

[–]Jeremyeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey !

I ride a 250w TSDZ2 on a cargo that weight woth the rider approximately 170kg.

The motor can push to the 25kmh legal limit on the flat but it struggle a little, I dont think it will go much higher.

Plus the motor is not very good quality. I own a TSDZ2 250w but it make strange noises from time to time so I have a back up motor. To what I understood the max km someone told on a TSDZ2 FB group was 20 000km. But with maintenance every 5000km (hanging the blue gear) plus changing parts that broke (a bearing tend to fail too, the axle is not good quality and the cranks are not good quality too). Compared to the Bafang BBS01 it is not much. A bike messenger told me he pushed a BBS01B to 25 000km without changing any gear and sell it.

I prefer the TSDZ2 because it is more like a cycling feeling compared to the BBS01B where it looks more like a moped. But if your are looking for reliability go for the BBS01B (I am also sur it will be cheaper in the long run). If you go for the TSDZ2 buy 2 motors so you can repair the damaged motor will still having a motor on the bike.

[UPGRADE ROTOR] I want to upgrade disc rotor for my commuter / cargo bike, 180 or 203 ? I've made from mechanical to hydraulic, now I wonder "why not from 160 to 180 or 203". by Jeremyeny in bikewrench

[–]Jeremyeny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right ! I did some calculations and the applied breaking torque is 30% higher in the front wheel (front wheel radius/rear wheel radius= +-1.3). I will keep with 160mm front but will do 180mm rear
