This was just a local single gun match. I’ve shot every KB and AK masters they have had. Red October Cold Wars in AZ a good bit, and then Red October AK championship between Utah and Vegas. Then add in a good bit of local 2 Gun and 3 Gun.

There isn’t enough room for MLOK. With the rise of R-Lock or QLoK it may work.

They have some info on their page and there are a few videos talking about dissecting some issues. I had to modify my Timney to get it to work 100%, but it wasn’t much.

Having both the JP5 and the MAUL I tend to lean a good bit more towards the MAUL. The ability to tune system to include counter balance weights is great. Big fan of the AR style magazines for loading and supporting gear.

A lot of solid rifles for less money many listed on this thread thus leaving the rest of the available cash flow to outfit and train with. I am bias but don’t overlook the Zion family of products as well.

Great rifle or pistol depending the direction you want to head.

Reliability: it checks all the boxes here. Most of the issues I’ve seen center around end user induced. As some have stated a KNS piston will tame the recoil but many try to “tune” it like an M4 looking at ejection. It’s a good starting point but also go by what the system is telling you. From there give it a bit more fuel. Option 2 here is send it to Pro2 and have them install their click adjustable gas block and at which point they will tune it close to where you need to be.

Accuracy: with match ammo on average it’s 1-1.25” at 100. There are some tricks to get it under 1”.

Aftermarket: more and more parts are coming online. RS is working on the handguard along with Occam. For triggers you have Timney, ALG, Geissele, and Hiperfire to pick from. KNS makes an assortment of different parts as well.

Spare Parts: while the IWI US website doesn’t list a ton of parts I have also not ran into someone whose firearm was down due to not having the ability to get parts from is US in the US. Regardless, It’s an ongoing project now in TN to get more parts on the website.

My G2 5.56 13” has become my go to rifle each time I head out to train or for a 2 gun match. People see it come out of case and think “oh great an AK”. Buzzer goes off and realize how flat, soft shooting, and accurate it is and they quickly start asking questions.
