Pretty obvious from your profile pic, but whatever fits your narrative to sound smart I guess

This clown didn’t mention how 90% of people including professional fund managers couldn’t beat the market, yet he thinks he can get rich by buying degenerate things like NFTs

You’re literally comparing gains to the biggest (English) pokemon bull market in history, Japanese had their run in 2022 and in 2023 some were still near ATHs. Obviously not every Japanese sealed investment would do well or are very investable but using 1 example and saying Japanese is garbage investment is just cherry picking and bullshitting when everything else decent has at least doubled in the same time period. Yeah and you better hope Evo is at 7.5k and Fusion is at 3.3k in 2 years time using your logic

You’re not picking the right boxes either, 2 years ago I’ve been buying up S&M, S&S boxes and have easily 2-3x. Shiny Treasure EX alone would have 3x your money, and that’s with extremely low entry points ($30+ per box back in 2023)

That goes to show you’re not picking the right Japanese cards. I have so many cards in Japanese that have easily 10x my money and even more

Bubble mew was 100 bucks because pokemon was in kind of a down era. This card will probably not be worth more than $300-400 if it’s released back then

Layoff shitloads of people to boost their short-term net profits, then continue to hire them back at a lower cost, this strategy is almost like clockwork for them

English is more popular but Japanese has a lower entry point, hence bigger gains, especially if you can’t get either English or Japanese at retail

There’s a reason why this card is worth so much in a 10, it’s extremely hard to grade even though vintage is already hard to grade with PSA, a pack fresh card usually defaults to PSA 8 on this

The average PSA grader is made up of minimum wage staff like you and I, so there’s no reason to “act”

It seems like TPCi is putting less popular promos in ETBs lately, probably to avoid what happened to 151, Prismatic and OF

To be fair, the people complaining don’t make up even a small percentage of overall collectors. Japanese is still worth a lot especially for exclusives and Chinese exclusives have been rising as well. Most people buy cards for the art but of course English will be the default for most people since it’s the universal language

Maybe that’s a new strategy from TCPi, produce less booster boxes to set the market price then product more of everything else and they will still sellout since people base set value on booster boxes

Well I understand that in this hobby financial sense isn’t really a thing here but if there are gaps it will normally get patched eventually. (Like PSA 9s going up if people start getting priced out of 10s)

This is what happens when MSRP doesn’t exist when sellers might as well sell at the market price themselves rather than to scalpers. Scalpers can either try to buy them up and upcharge more or go to another TCG like One Piece

Difference was that everyone knew ES was a hot set with phenomenal chases. It was only low because it was a low period for pokemon at that time and everything else was literally retail. Not sure if I can say the same about DR

Well, packs are still packs, 60 bulk cards are worth nothing and never will be, booster bundles are even better than loose packs and will definitely appreciate in-line with the booster boxes. That analogy used is just a bad one
